Meh, I'm just pointing out he was the worst candidate to be elected in the DA, far to wet behind the ears.

happy to say I'm not aware of anyone from my school days going into politics

some doctors, some engineers, many IT folk, an entrepreneur or two and the richest girl in school's dad is still in the top 20 richest of South Africa so I'm sure she's fine, but thankfully no politicians!

If it's legit, I doubt he would have written it himself anyway, would probably have been someone from his office.

If Zuma wrote his own speeches, at least the comedy would have made him a bit more bearable...

Yeah I know, but even though Goolam is "supposedly" in with the crowd, I personally think he mostly just makes shyte up as he goes and gets some stuff right, and lots of stuff wrong.

Yeah always take with a pinch of salt, changes his tune as long as it allows him to praise Cyril.

The other day he was going on about how good Cyril was for negotiating with the EFF to join, after trashing the EFF, and now he's back to trashing them again.

Still, the reactions to his posts from RET are funny af...

indeed, I'm willing to become a benevolent dictator if the nation wants me to be, but in the meantime I'll stick to trying to earn money to live my life and avoid politics like the plague it is

Clause 16 implies that the party seats in parliament would be considered but would not be the only criteria considered. I think what Ramaphosa is going to is to appoint less Ministers from the ANC than what their seats represents and then use that to justify not giving the DA what they want, while buying favour with the smaller parties.

So the bigger parties will end up with more positions anyway whilst those who might not have had positions if NA seats were the only consideration would get something.

The problem with that is it's going to be a nightmare to manage a cabinet with so many different interests.

Imagine Al-Jamahaha, PAC, GOOD and UDM getting ministries, and now you have to manage their constant bickering even though they bring no influence or rationality to the GNU.

Is that trade-off worth diluting the DA's influence, when the DA will bring far more stability and (effective) governance experience. The DA will have their own little scandals pop up for sure, but it's easier to manage than a bunch of loudmouths who think they can call shots as if they have any power to do so...
