What are the participants of this thread's thoughts on ActionSA? Are what they stand for the same as their actions so far?
Unless. Stand for nothing really, social democracy

But better than ANC or EFF

Well, I did consider voting for them at some point but I reneged on it eventually.

To quote me:
They strike me as extremely petty and hypocritical, and so far we haven't really heard what solid policies they have to offer, except that they're against illegal immigration and they're the "new alternative".
And something else, that struck me is that in a way they operate just like EFF. Sure, they aren't as racist or imbecilic as EFF, but they tend to use the same tactics. And notice how national leadership basically dictates everything to the provinces. You'd think once the provinces have chairpersons and you have branches there, you could at least have a provincial conference to appoint an IPEC (interim PEC). But notice, how there's nothing like that even in the established provinces like NW and GP.

Meanwhile in Beaufort:

Seems like Uncle Gayton's toilet eradication bid ain't going so well.

Paywalled. Sounds familiar.

Them and the unions say this every election.
The problem is this time it just might happen. With most people knowing ANC will fall below 50% in 2024, it is possible SACP wants to cut its losses... Add the infighting and factionalism of ANC...

IDK. But I don't think they'll get 2%+ anyway.

How do most people know this, polls?
But the SACP has been saying this for a long time, they are in no position to be cutting their losses, their interest will still be better served if they are in the ANC, they have not done any work to stand any chance to stand a chance of getting any meaningful share of the vote.

No, by-election patterns and last year's results.

That's why I said, if they do compete separately, they won't get more than 2%.

Okay I spent a week in the EC. Drive there from JHB. We have so much land in this country…

Catching up now.

Anyway.. @TheChamp doesn’t do electrol data as evidence. Only “proper” data from elections that are not elections…

So, looks like we get ANC+EFF for 5yrs after 2024. That will be a blast…
