A week after the appointment of the first woman Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Nomusa Dube-Ncube, the Executive Council this week announced its decision to renew the employment contract of Dr Nonhlanhla Omic Mkhize who is also the first female Director-General in the province since the advent of democracy. Both Premier Dube-Ncube and Mkhize’s historic appointments happen to coincide with Women’s Month. Dr Mkhize’s contract has been extended for a period of five years starting from 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2027.
Probably. So the DG could use standard RET tactics in court. With unlimited funds.![]()

I wonder if they renewed the contract knowing that something was about to happen to her, now she will have unlimited funding to drag her case for years.

Nothing, by then they would have found something else to say. They probably know that they are not getting anywhere close to that but just hoping the winning mentality will be a positive thing.Gotta give them credit for being totally detached from the reality that surrounds them.
Wonder what excuse will be dished out when they don't get anywhere close to that number.
Dunno.Gotta give them credit for being totally detached from the reality that surrounds them.

The ANC's diagnosis of the problem is obviously that they need to be "united", as in have Zuma in the tent pissing than out pissing in. At the moment he's in pissing in and depending on his mood, sometimes actively sabotaging them. And his moods will depend on how his legal woes proceed.Dunno.
I mean you can just look at the data. From 2019 onwards, ANC KZN hasn't been having fun times.
2019 - 54%
2021 - 41%
If you look at by-elections in KZN, they're still getting hit.
No one else at all? Not even Mpofu...?
Ok.
Good. I remember the shittons of complaints by my fellow students on Telegram over NSFAS.
I wouldn't be surprised if the SIU finds grand corruption or something at NSFAS.
Kinda makes the audits they conduct (internal and external) useless. You shouldn't be able to have grand corruption if you are auditing with integrity. Internal auditors are probably easy to coopt and external ones aren't really able to get to the details.
NSFAS does have many problems including a lot of students who use it for the stipend rather than the studying. And a lot funded who shouldn't because they are not studying what gets funded. And probably many ghosts too. They need to get strict with what they fund or at least assign priorities and ensure they study and pass.
True. A student must eat well and get a good night's rest on a good bed to be ready for their study day and exams. Glad to see you agree.Beds and fridges are important funding priorities.
You forgot: Alcohol, cigarettes, airtime, blankets, cookware, cutlery, extension cords, hairdryers, jackets, cordless kettles, handbags, iTunes gift cards, microwaves, sleepwear items, underwear for men and women and ans iPhones as well - especially when it's other peoples' money. Just ask Sibongile ManiTrue. A student must eat well and get a good night's rest on a good bed to be ready for their study day and exams. Glad to see you agree.
Don't be ridiculous. Surely I don't have to write that in italics or put a /s after it?Don't be ridiculous.
