LMAO. Ai Maimane.

The guy who's been ranting about the current political system and not believing in parties anymore, who insisted on "ANC, DA ayisafani", the guy who has a civil organisation for independents, has now created the exact thing he espoused to despise with the reasonable explanation of "No, guys, it's just an umbrella body!"

Last I checked if you create a party with yourself as leader and independents join said party, they're no longer independent...

P.S Paywalled.

Pretty much confirmed that Rama has the top position for a second term.
I also think so, the fight is now on for the soul of the Deputy President.
Yeah. Rama is safe as ANC leader (but not as SA President). KZN will once again stand alone against Rama. The battle will be for Deputy President and other positions like SG and the NEC spots...

So, we're safe to rule out a national ANC/EFF coalition in 2024 (ANC under Rama will most likely not work with Julius on a national scale, they rejected EFF last year, so I doubt they'll all of a sudden fall in love with them, although on provincial scale something can happen).

I don't know if Rama will not work with Julius, it's not about Rama it's about the ANC, on the other hand maybe Julius would not work with Rama because unlike the ANC, Julius is the EFF and the EFF is Julius.

I think it it will a depend on what the EFF puts on the table and the appetite of the ANC around that, there will obviously be more resistance to the EFF ways with Cyril at the helm but I have always fancied the chances of the EFF working with the ANC than the DA in a national election.

CiC has made it clear if Rama remains ANC leader, they won't coalesce with ANC.

While on pure ideology it makes more sense if EFF works with ANC, but it seems even the ANC under Rama think they're too radical.

EFF would most likely only help the UF like last year and then expect admiration and favours. And if the UF just snub them again, they'll just throw their toys out of their cot like always.

If no one works with them then that's all they can do surely? It shouldn't affect anything.

I think it will be a re-hash of the ideas that the DA has already put forward, but there is nothing wrong with re-iterating the stuff given the current context. It's all about getting the message out through the media, so people who don't pay much attention to politics (not us in this thread) may get the message...
