But you are right - I bought into the New Dawn .... thought it would be a quick swop from JZ - JZ and ilk ensured, it was never going to be just a matter of walking in and slapping on a new coat of paint, it is more a of reconstruction process and the ANC should be replaced in leading the process. We have been here before, party before country .... no thanks ---+ looks to me the ANC caucus scored plenty of own goals with this QA

++ you need a personality like Thandi Modise as Speaker.... the EFF knows what buttons to push with those that have less than a Go **** Yourself attitude approach... they doing a Mbete on Mapisa-Nqakula --- time for the Speaker to get some pointers from Thandi

The media played a huge part in the New Dawn with the whole "Rama will save us" and "good ANC, bad ANC" ****.

Now after Phala Phala and the past two years of disaster, all those who thought there was still a "good ANC" and that Rama was our saviour, have now started to turn their backs on the ANC and see what everyone else sees.

But funnily enough, the same journos, etc refuse to support the opposition while at the same time condemning the ANC...

As you say, @ShaunSA, we never left it, it's just turned down a bit...

CAPE TWON - Some Oudtshoorn residents said they had lost faith in the government's empty promises to build them new homes.
A few have told Eyewitness News that they've been waiting on the housing list for three decades.
"From our side, we are standing for a fair system where houses are allocated according to the 60/20/20 % allocation system as per instructed by the national government," one resident told Eyewitness News.
The Western Cape's Human Settlement MEC, Tertius Simmers said the keys would be made available for more than 200 new homes by the end of the current financial year.
"In 2018, I turned with my predecessor to give them community feedback, and almost 75% of all of the names which Backyarders of Hope gave to my predecessor would never qualify for a fully state-subsidised housing opportunity because they didn't tick off one of the four boxes.
"The 25% that did remain we could assist but obviously depending on when they applied," said Simmers.

I still maintain that the whole Phala X 2 is mostly a spook job, - the Buffalo doing his usual slow approach, which I can appreciated, --allowing all and sundry to throw in their 2 cents but the country must come first. As for the opposition, although selling a fresh breath of air... and yes I am looking at the DA...journalists generally have an inside line .. they know how the DA operates, what the inside state of play is, for all the blue 'n blink the party projects... major fault lines run through it...what will be interesting is when those faults lines get stress tested...really get tested, by provincial/national coalition(s). But ya, the ANC is not fit to run the country any longer.

those days are gone ... the Daily Maverick has a general hardon for the DA, bar Stephen Grootes... Sunday Times is a division of the Anc's RET brigade... -IOL is in the general ANC stable, but seems to be more RET

you have to be objective , and cut through the BS.... or you will be roped into a narrative of someone else's making.

How exactly? From what I've seen they tend to be critical of everyone incl. DA.

I would switch the two.

Sunday Times were puppets of Zuma during his era (refer to the SARS Rogue Unit debacle). But they switched to Rama.

IOL is RET Central.

I would have been more inclined to agree with you on Rama's innocence if Rama was forthcoming from the start. But he's purposefully dodging questions. And if someone keeps dodging questions like this about a really serious allegation (Phala Phala is Rama's Nkandla really), it shows they have something to hide.

He always responds with "I don't mind being held accountable, but I will wait for the agencies to finish their investigation" (even tho it is his constitutional duty to account to Parly first, then everyone else, but he isn't. He is playing the same games Zuma did). Like yesterday in Parly, he again dodged the question and gave the same response I mentioned above.
