Nah, they're gonna smite the DA in WC because "DA BAD" mos.
Where they don't outright coalesce with ANC, they vote with ANC.
I wouldn't be surprised if they lost seats or stagnate in 2024. Both in WC and nationally.

Yeah, the IPP strategy and they plan to connect non-City grids like Soweto to the City. So it seems at least they have a plan.

TBH I think this is just a case of Aunty Pat needs to build a "useful" sized base so she can merge with a bigger party (the ANC is about her only option, since the DA won't touch her again).

I agree. It's the second time she's allied with the ANC, the first was in the mid-2000s when the ID was still around (pre-DA merge/cooperation).
I don't think DA will be as happy to merge with or even work with GOOD. And it seems the feeling is mutual from GOOD's side.
