The Samsung i900 OMNIA Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Hi everyone,

I was hoping somebody would be able to assist me,
Ever since updating my phone to the JCIC1 firmware, it no longer vibrates while ringing, when set to vibrate and ring, it only vibrates when set to vibrate only.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Hi Guys

would any of you know if Vodacom would replace the front screen o an omnia if it is really SCRATCHED up , my phone is still under warranty !

any help pleasssssssssssse

No idea man, you'll probably have to phone them and find out. I take out additional insurance from autopage on top if my contract which covers theft and water damage.

I just recently uninstalled FingerKeyboard2 , bur now when I reply to or send a new sms , the screen comes up blank . Isnt there a way I can set the "input" back to the Samsung Keypad ?

Start> settings > personal > input > input method:Samsung Keyboard

Is there speakerphone functionality on this phone?
When u receive or make calls, there is an option to put speakerphone on. Top left icon is "Speaker On" is for speakerphone. This option will only disappear if u choose "Keypad", in which case u can still toggle speakerphone from the 'Menu'.

Want to get more "oomph" out of your Omnia? Get XCPUscalar - nifty little utility that lets you adjust the clock speed of your Omnia's CPU, and if you buy it, you can set it to auto-adjust, which works like a frikkin' charm.

It's literally like a whole new phone.

The Omnia's processor is apparently 624Mhz, but it doesn't seem to use all of it. In the shareware version of XCPUscalar, you can set it to 500MHz... Just try access your photo slides or your GPS, that'll be proof enough of the difference.

This is possibly the best utility for the Omnia I've stumbled on yet. Other than the no-threaded texts one :p

Interesting, will look into it.

Hey guys

Just started using my Omnia this weekend and enjoying the Youtube and FB apps so far. Trying to upgrade to the JCIC1 firmware but I'm having problems.

The updater app keeps telling me "Incorrect software version". I followed zanderza's tutorial (post number 400 and something) but it gives that error.

Help?
