Exactly what i was hoping wouldnt happen has happened......
My case has cracked! Hairline crack just above the camera

Phone is barely 2 months old...
Has anyone in SA managed to get their phones repaired / replaced under warranty for a crack? I use vodacom, ive read some MTN south africans on XDA saying they were told its their own fault.

Sending it in would mean restoring hard-spl , the rom etc to stock which i dont want to waste time doing if they just going to shrug it off as my fault.
 
my phones cracked as well. vodacare says its customer negligence and not covered under warranty...
go figure...

- new build 23001
- titanium plugins (weather, notification,ccom, atcontacts)
- some secret stuff
- long press key
- vedio playback fix and the random hangs

Yippi :p My X1 just arrived. What goodies do I need to install? ROM etc. I have not been using Windows Mobile since I moved to Nokia N95 in 2005. Looking forward to this phone.
 
go straight to the x1 forums on XDA... all the info you need is there.

3 step process

1) HardSPL to unlock phone
2) load ROM of choice onto supplied memory stick and install
3) enjoy speed and stability

many of us were and are still using TouchX (running on wm6.2), but ive started a break away to wm6.5 with a very fast and good ROM called Firestorm.

Thanks dude! XDA says my last log in was Dec 2006. :D Guess its goodbye to symbian for now.

Thank you. Initially I was experiencing connection problems while running hardspl but this is due to Windows 7. After running on Vista, everything went smooth.

Its 01:22AM. Looks like I'll be sleeping at 4AM playing with this toy. :D
 
ok for those using version 2.1 of firestorm there is a bug with the Titanuim weather, check post 3 bug section of the firestorm thread on xda for the .cab fix

Just phone the Sony Ericsson Helpline on 0861632222. They know about the cracking problem and will refer you to a repair centre near you for them to swap out. I'm taking mine in this week or early next week. Only one drawback, takes up to four weeks to get swapped out.

energy rom still very buggy, check last couple pages....
remember touchIT still running wm6.2

i am using Valkryie Firestorm and im loving it, and its running the new wm6.5
firestorm is fast and virtually bug free.... fastest rom i have ever ever ever seen
 
After reading all the forums it seems Valkryie Firestorm is the one with the least bugs.
This weekend i'll be flashing my phone for the first time.

Thanks kvi for pointing this ROM out.

Is there a way to quickly install the apps you always use after flashing your phone?
 
Hi all..

Been away from the forum for a while and just "sped red LOL" the last few pages.

My x1 cracked and my earphone jack had a problem... Here is what they will do for those "xperiancing" problems;
If it just cracks, they replace the cover and back plastic but with mine I got a brand spanking new phone! cause the headphone jack is connected to the mainboard. and in black this time. Don't bother taking it to any of the service providers as they all full of ****!! take it to a sony ericsson accredited repair centre. I took mine to SSS cellular (Tel - 0118232203) in JHB on sat and got my new phone today (was ready on tuesday) they have really outstanding service and staff!

Wow seems the touch x revoltion is over. Good on you Kvi for breaking away.

Now did I hear someone mention something about tomtom ? send me a pm and I will "hook you up" !
