not able to do the update either. but from reports online, it updates the video drivers and speeds up the device. no major new features added for now.
 
niether can i from here on we gonna see true potential of the phone. it is already a great phone, so can only get better.
 
remember that added features on this phone are pretty much what you install yourself. therefore i doubt we would ever see new stuff on a firmware upgrade.

now hurry up and release that darn uk generic
 
Update

Updated my phone today to lates generic NAM X1A Rom. It does seem to boot quicker and also runs faster and smoother. Haven't had a lot of time to play but so far so good.
 
thats the north america rom? what rom where you on before that? can we jump between roms?
 
SE X1 - Problem Connecting to WiFi Router at Home

Finally got my X1 when contract on P990 expired! Still a SE addict! (On MTN). I love the phone, even though I seem to stress out WM from time to time!

I have a problem though - I cannot connect to my WiFi routers at home. WM sees the routers, tries to connect, by keeps on being kicked out. I have been looking at some of the international discussions on the X1 and it seems Vodafone blocks WiFi access through the software installed on the phone.

Has anyone else had the same problem? Does MTN do the same?

Any suggestions on how to fix. I don't want to have to pay MTN's extortionate data costs when I am already paying Telkom for ADSL.

Hi

My x1 cd don't want to open on my Vista machine. I installed the latest adobe flash player, but still no go.

I searched the thread, but nothing on this.
If anyone can give a tip please?

Riaan What error are you getting when you try run the cd
 
It says to the disc requires adobe flash player 8.0 or later. I re-installed from the adobe site this morning but still no go.
 
UK generic R2A is out. its installed and working SWEET. feels faster will let you all know.
 
thats cool.... just wanna ask did you use the sony update service to do the update and Was backing up the device easy enough??

dont feel like losing any data:D
 
ah as you see on xda it says..

NEW R2 ROMS FOR UK,NL,FR and SP - special thanks to one GREAT man who do not want to be named...enjoy them guyz..and keep in mind that this new (UNITED KINGDOM,NETHERLANDS,FRANCE AND SPAIN) ROMS are NOT released yet for PUBLIC use so u CANNOT get them using SEUS or official service centre...
 
once you have the rom downloaded then use these instructions

if you have already done the hardSPL the previous time (which you would have done if you debranded the vodafone) then you dont need that step.

just relabel the file to Kovsimg.nbh and place on your fat32 formatted card.... and reboot as instructed in step 2
 
marine1, downloaded those 4 cab files for the tomtom navi... getting an sd card today for my x1... (only got the phone yesterday).... im really keen on setting tomtom up... where can i download the maps from? followed instructions, but not going any further until i get the sd card... i've installed a poo load of apps already... :)

Please can i have a link for the maps download... dont mind downloading it...

What will happen if do not "hardSPL" the x1 before flashing the new ROM? I have an MTN unit?
