No, I don't have the answer since I don't own a pirated copy. It could just as easily be an issue with his machine and not the pirated copy, there is no way for me to know.

If not then he can definitively say it is the cracked copy causing the problem and he can proceed to either test the demo or buy the game.

changing V-sync from triple buffered to double and doing a defrag before playing fixes for some (did a quick google).
Another option is updage graphics driver and do a clean install (of graphics driver).

A quick google has this issue pop up on many games made with the same engine.

FCAT is showing a lot of dropped frames, it could be a bad crack. Thanks Jax. Ill buy it from steam this weekend.

I own The Stanley Parable. Had an issue getting it up and running initially, can't quite remember what that was, but it was well documented on the steam forums and a mere 2 minute fix. It's quite a fun game, I enjoyed it. Didn't have any stuttering issues.
