One more question. After speaking to him he says to send pics of what I want done and then on the first session he will draw up a design and discuss the work thats going to be done. Is this normal practice? I would assume that the design would sort of be done by the time I get there and we would spend an hour or so getting the placement and fit right. But now it seems the whole design is going to be done on the day.

So now you have booked and paid for a 6 hour session and might not get a drop of inc done for the first couple?

Some guys work like that and do the design on the actual day. Guess they have something in mind after you send them the pics.
I'm also one who would like to see the design beforehand so that likes and dislikes can be discussed. All my other pieces we did like that.

When he did mine it was a pretty standard design from previous work. Different text and some colour added before we started. So we did it on the actual day

I would also ask for a rough idea in advance. Especially for stuff more detailed and fitting into a bigger piece. Tweaks can be done on the actual day.

Noted thanks, I feel that sitting around for hours while he draws up a design does seem like the best way to spend your "hours" unless the time doesn't actually start until you are in the chair.


But I will chat to him, appointment is 23 March... Feels years away

6 and a half hours of tattooing done. We actually still have about an hour left, but we got the majority of the sleeve completed. Black and grey pics below due to the redness of my skin:

Helios (shoulder)
Zeus (bicep)
Poseidon (inner forearm
Ares (outer forearm)

Will post colour pics once it’s all healed

No Just the top section. I have a ying yang wolf which is in drawn in tear marks on my left shoulder and so this will be in the centre of the back (between the blades) and then going to get another animal tear type on my right shoulder later (to balance the three out) I am thinking a bear in a type of bear claw look.
 
Tattoo I got done a few weeks ago. Can't really see it in the pics, but the line wraps around my arm and finished on the other side. First tattoo in 10 years. Will definitely not be another 10 years till the next one.
