The truth about Openweb

I must say I've enjoyed being able to watch the occasional youtube video again now that I've switched away from closed web. Actually cheaper for me as well as I was on OW Gold (I think leon edition :p) for R589 and now on afrihost capped 200gb for R399. It's also nice to be able to see how much I'm actually using (which is looking like about 120gb for the month so far).
 
anyone here know any more about crystal web ? also any thoughts about using 10 meg data on a 4 meg line in an effort to avoid shaping a bit.

As far as the response from OP goes...well idk sounds to "covering our a$$" type response to me.

Oh no, I switched ages ago back to Afrihost. OW didn't offer a capped solution at the time (not sure if they do now).
 
Odd my open web account works perfectly fine, has for ages. :confused: I've also had good support from them. But also then again i don't try to download the entire internet every month.
 
If you buy capacity why the f would you then share accounts then? Makes no sense but is happening....
I originally reported my findings re account sharing in 2013 and got the same copy paste response.

Didn't care to take a further as I got my 10Mbps uncapped that I was paying for and at the slightest hint of shaping a quick complaint to [email protected] led to a new username which working like a dream again. At one stage there was 4 active connections on one of my usernames but torrents came down at full speed so who really cares....?

I'm not sure if you're okay with the system or not by your message? But I will say that there is certainly reason to care, while your torrents were full speed the other 3 concurrent users were crawling to open jpegs, and well, when the tables turn you certainly wouldn't be a happy camper to be in their position. It's problem shifting, not problem solving.

Point I want to make is my experience was always good....
I don't care much for the 3 other users as I am paying for my service and getting it so no reason for me to make noise.

However, running a company like this and on the scale that they have been says a whole lot about the morals of their commander en chief, DR ImSoMuchBetterThenEveryOneAtEverything. No time for someone who cheats their way to a profit.
The word however is spreading....
 
You have to be some kind of stupid to open a tech company then come to a tech forum where tech people and tech experts are and try bull**** those tech people. How stupid do these companies think we are ?

Meh not stupid. A chancer, playing games with techies. I bet he laughed all the way to the bank while mybb'ers were fooled. He is almost on the same level as the Nigerian scamsters :P

He was doing this for years while the OpenBots on this forum were waving their pitchforks at everyone who reported the issue. The tech experts here took too long to cotton on.

To be fair, when I first signed up I had no issues with them performance and support was decent. Its only since the last year or so(lol that's a long time) where everything has gone pear shaped. I have experienced everything from account sharing to being refused the option of switching backbones because there are no accounts available(thought you worked on capacity and do not buy accounts). I remember when they got me to pay more for a vanilla gold account(was on the old 699 VB special) because apparently they were starting to offer accounts on the saix backbone then when next month came they weren't offered anymore.
