The truth behind Seacom delay

sorry, but i don't understand what chips have to do with anything of this?

Ok, so lets get to it.

Testing has already started. So in 23 days the cable will be ready, the website says.

anyone betting on any more delays? my money's on imminent.

MyBroadband is officially banned from making any more April Fool's Jokes unless they also become reality!!!

Why is this news now ?
This was reported in the mainstream media weeks back.

AND you know what this mean we going to have to pay for those extra "chips" :(

Are we not due for another "Cheaper broadband coming soon" article?

the cable will be ready but don't expect to see anything of it, telkom will not pass on any saving to anyone any time soon

If piracy is such a huge issue around Somalian coast to interfere with such huge commercial operation .. International military powers could be contracted to deal with this piracy once and for all. Declare no transit allowed for unidentified ships in the area, anything that enter this area unscheduled and does not respond and identifies itself gets to go to the bottom of the sea no questions asked.

Piracy problem solved!

There are hundreds of naval ships already in the area from a large number of countries. You do realize the sheer size of the area we are talking about here? In a grid 100 kms by 100 kms we have 10,000 square kilometers. multiply that by a factor of another hundred and you should have the size of the area that needs to be patrolled.

Ah the myBB bitch and whine squad... getting ready for action. :D

I think Seacom are a bunch of legends, to get it done with only one month late and having to contend with Pirates. They deserve some praise. Well done guys.

Of course whatever will come out of the Seacom venture remains to be seen... I'd rather just wait and see and then compliment or complain.

But I must say I'm having a bit of déjà vu from this article, wasn't there something like this two weeks ago? :erm:

uh...yeah - exactly why this thread isn't taken seriously - it's been pointed out already. :p

I totally agree with you though - seacom is great, seacom is good - we just have to wait and see if it makes a difference to pricing from the ISP's side. :erm:
