Are u out of yer bloomin mind, the wii is a piece of ****, yo Pippa , back me up on this :D

Killa where are you man :D I see that UG has read through the posts!

Anyway The Verge was at the MSSA LAN Champs this past weekend and a small snippet has been shceduled for thursday I believe. Check it out if you guys are interested!

Yea i check, hopefully my comment was not the one UG was talking about in regards to the prozzie thing :D

Also i do not think UG you should worry about critics, even the greatest movies known to man have their critics, it is the nature of the game.
The wii is not a piece of crap, it just gets old really fast :D

The only issues I really have with The Verge are something most people have already brought up - the lack of PC news - and the low quality of some of the trailers.

Other than that, I think it is a pretty good show (and Pippa is smoking), although since it is live I would like to see more up to the minute news e.g. what games are coming out this week, maybe some of the top news stories on the gaming blogs for the day - basically the day's gaming news as well as the trailers. Maybe an occasional feature or two (e.g. the history of some game studio, etc.), the kind of articles they used to have in the old gaming magazines.

I watched Verge for almost 6 months straight since it came out, but unfortunenatly i got my xbox back 3 months ago....so didn't have time to watch it, i dont watch TV at all, but I think the show is unique, ITS SOUTH AFRICAN, ITS ABOUT GAMES full stop...
and from what i saw it does look like they do try to cover the LANs, and try to review games here and there, by playing the demo...and they do give up to date industry news

The only critique i have is the fact that it looks like there are not alot of people working on the content of the show, and it looks like the people currently on the show are working around the clock to cover the existing content.

My suggestions would be:

get a feature in like IGN_Strategize

I dont think you can get rid of the mobile review, cuz its MTN that sponsor the show and they probably demand it.

Pippa is really nice, with the slip of words and quirks here and there, its cute....but changing up the presenter once and a while, wont hurt...i recommend that guy that Pippa usually talks to who does the Nintendo stuff(i think) he knows how to speak to the camera and sounds quite knowledgeable...i met him at Coke Zero fest while he managed the Guitar hero booth, nice guy, knows his stuff....cuz from what I know, Pippa is doing her thing at WITS and probably only comes in a hour before the show to prep....

point is, getting more people involved into the show, getting some students that are willing to come in for free, to research for content, do some field reporting at a LAN, review a game etc...
I worked at a university radio station for 2 years, I wasnt paid a dime...only payment i got was the booze at socials, and that was more than enough for me as a student...there are guys out there that are willing to work for nothing or at least a free game here and there from the suppliers.

In conclusion its a nice show to watch for someone thats not that into gaming that isnt willing to go to 1up or IGN or wherever....but it could be a great show for the everyone , including the hardcore guys, if you just involve the gamers community and making it worth it for them to watch it...bringing on board content producers (plural) and interns

the only way websites like ...(insert your favorite gaming site here)... got to a credible source, which it is today, is through word of mouth, persistence and knowing your content inside and out....

...and finally, Pippa is like our own JESSICA CHOBOT....accept Pippa has her Masters in Visual Communication (..if i'm not mistaken)...so she knows a bit about the technical side of gaming....give her a break.

that indian guy that does the presenting now and again is ok, only saw him twice or so, but ...how bout him presenting a couple of nights in a week..
