What a meh episode. I hate these delay tactics they use just to keep viewers, they know we want to see how the core group is getting on but no, let's force you to watch this first.

They have to develop the story somehow, otherwise it's just attack attack attack on Alexandria. Next week should swing in the main group and catch things up.

Agree. This showed how Negan operates and it introduced a lot of back story. No doubt essential for coming weeks.

I thought it fleshed out Darryl, Dwight and Negan very well. One of the best episodes in a while. They'll be back with the main group next week.

was a decent episode. wondering why daryl doesn't just pretend to turn to negan side and then use that to get back to rick.

Negan not stupid. He knows Daryl is as stubborn as nails and would've seen right through the façade, which wouldbe intensified the torture.

I wonder how many more inane monologues I'll be able to endure from Negan.

I see an Empire Strikes Back situation developing where Daryl's suffering creates Dwight's redemption and subsequent defeat of "The Emperor".

Been re-reading the comics lately and just did the whole kneeling scene when Neegan introduces himself and Lucille. The show was nearly word for word from the comics, thats impressive.

Even what happened to Glen and the respective gore.

What do the writers on TWD then get paid for??

No reason they can't cycle through more than one set of characters per episode.

Loses intensity if you ask me. Can you imagine how boring it would be to switch from action in Alexandria to this slow episode?

What comes next in Alexandria is likely after what happened in this past episode because Negan would have thrown it in Darryl's face.

If you're not used to it by now... maybe you should move on.

I'm used to it. Doesn't mean I like it.

Game of Thrones manages it just fine, as do other shows, and they're still awesome.

I doubt there would have been any action immediately after what happened in Alexandria. They still have to tell the others what happened, mourn Glenn and Abraham, talk about how fscked they are etc. Show us how Carol and Ezekiel are getting on etc. It could have been an overall "slow" episode but still showing us what's going on in other places as well.

I agree. There were one or two episodes at the beginning of last season when I was so pissed off at being fed a week of nothing after a real cliff hanger the week before.

Its not nothing... Certain episodes are designed in a way, that will give the viewers a view on characters we dont really see or focus much on. They give us a background of who they are, why they there, what is their agenda and so on. Also because the characters are in different areas, the show has to switch, in order to create a balance.

Im not a fan of just all out battles, because then we dont get an idea on certain aspects of the groups and its issues. Relaxing episodes, followed by an intense one either before or after are good.

I know filler when I see it. This episode wasn't but at the start of last season there was plenty of it.
