He is actually a LOT older than I ever released from the show. It's only after watching Ride with Norman Reedus that I went to investigate.

Also for those that didn't know his character didn't exist in the comics. He auditioned as Merle and they ultimately created the character to match him, so maybe it's his natural dirty inclination that got him in there.
