The Witcher 3 Official thread

How can you not have a PC? Shouldn't buying a PC take preference over buying a gaming console?

I haven't owned a PC since I left university. Almost 8 years without one. I get by with my laptop, tablets ...and gaming console.

I'm looking for the baron's daughter, but i've been pacing myself. Considering getting project cars.
I've got both (yes, I'm going to die poor). If you can spend hours driving around a tracing g to better your times get it. Best racing SIM I ever played. Took a bit getting used to but so much better than GT.

I found the baron's daughter. Still need to find her mother though but then I got side tracked on finding the witch. That's one hot CGI witch

Then you've got a PC. It doesn't matter whether you game on a desktop or laptop. The only difference is that desktop offers much better value for money.

Can't say I see the point in having a laptop though if you have a tablet. You'd be better off with a decent desktop PC - you could save a lot of money as a gamer.

The point of the laptop is that I work on it.

You serious? Are you still a student or something?

I am. Why? No one codes on a laptop unless they're out and about or have no other option.

Mechanical keyboard + 27" monitor + extra 27" monitor for live preview/Wolfram/referencing = coding nirvana.

Can't imagine hunched over a 15" laptop with my fingers struggling over recessed chiclet keys.

Er. I designed and coded/edited websites on a 11" macbook air in bed (after hours). Upgraded to a 13" pro.

Your statement is not entirely true.
And yes, I have a desktop as well.

Have I got news for you. You must be a student or relatively new in the field.

I mean as a primary dev machine.

I just said I was a student lol. Why would a seasoned dev subject himself to such misery though?

I am actually a bit overwhelmed by the size of the game. I got a level 33 quest which will have to wait for much later.

I am also still coming to grips with the oils and runes etc

But this is a great game, it will keep me busy for a long long time.

Erm?

I work on a Laptop have a 20 odd " screen the laptop plugs into as well as a keyboard and mouse at my desk. I take a load of work home thus using a laptop. Pretty odd saying one ca't do so and so from a laptop :o

Think everybody got that brother quest. 24 more levels to go :(

32h42m level 14 and only 19% done, with loads of points of interest and so many side quests I have lost count, I am thinking 200hrs doesn't seem to crazy to finish this game completely.

Praying to the witcher gods that my laptop can run it, gt640m on it... it runs witcher2 and bf4 fine... ah well can only find out hey :D

Lol, just lol.
I've used a notebook for coding for over 8 years. Granted we use what Dell deems "desktop replacement" notebooks but nevertheless still notebooks. It makes no difference to a desktop, especially when paired with a 24" screen.

And FYI, quality laptop keyboards are the shiz, even my external keyboard has laptop keys (very slim profile, very sensitive) makes for less typos.
