I'm typing this message on my E90. I've put the Xperia in its box and in the cupboard. Monday morning I'm returning it and that will end my journey with the Xperia by my side.
After I missed a few calls today while I was doing shopping because the loudspeaker is so terrible and I only saw that I received a sms when I got home I decided that this phone will definately not be good for my business.
First impressions with the Xperia (first 2hours or so) was excellent. After that, well, no thanks. I really think I'm going to give the BB Bold a go. I havent seen or read anything bad about it yet. If anyone can give me some info I would appreciate it.
One thing is for shure, whatever I get next, I will not get excited till after using it at least 2 days without any problems.
I spoke to the MTN connect store in kenilworth and waiting on stock for my replacement model. I asked if the next model gives me trouble can i swap it out for another type of phone like the HTC touch pro or Black berry bold and she said no can only swap for the same phone???
But will see what happens with my replacement and if gives problems, will make dam sure can get a different phone!!
ok last question for tonight
my brother had a windows media imate i think, and when the batt went flat he last ALL data and contacts... so i remember he was always trying to keep chargers with him and his phone charged....
will this happen with this windows media device too? if i let it run flat i lose everything?
I've never liked Blackberries, they solid, well built and reliable but so are Toyota's. The styling is so conservative and boring IMO. I reckon if you were sold on the Sony then you should give the Touch Pro a bash, they practically twins but the difference may be that HTC has been down the WM road before and they've made the mistakes SE is making now with the Experia. The Touch Pro would have to be the more complete article...Hopefully the Blackberry BOLD will do the thing.
instead of sniping would you mind providing some details of the thread you are referring to?Hey Piesang,
I've been very interested reading your comments about the X1 problems but unfortunately due to a trigger happy mod I could not post a response.
This is how it works, and I confirmed it at the Cape Gate Service Centre today as well.
Phone swop out (same phone)
You have 7 days from the day you signed the contract to swop the phone for a new one (same phone). If you swop the phone for a new one (same phone) after 3 days you again get 7 days to swop the phone for a new one (same phone).
Phone swop out (different phone)
If you have a problem like I do, 3 phones and all 3 of them are OBF (out of box failure) you have 7 days from the day you signed the contract to swop it out for a different phone. Each type of phone is linked to a different type of contract with a few phones out there on the exact same package with the exact same tariff which means if you have a Xperia and you pay R459 per month for it on a Anyime350 and you swop it out for a different phone at exactly the same montly subscription on the same plan they just give you a new phone (different model).
If the new phone you want is on the same package but you pay R469/month then they cancel the contract and you must sign a new contract for that phone. Then there could be a waiting period of a maximum of 5 days.
Hope I explained this clearly enough. Goog luck with your phones guys.
I'm disgusted because I got a Phonie Erection.
Thats why its always better to test a phone yourself. You cant always go on someone else's word. The Xperia may be working 100% for one of you guys. But believe me, if you used to a Nokia E90 then you need a very good replacement. I walked into a few cellphone shops and tell them that I'm due for a upgrade but I need to replace my E90 then I just get a blank stare. Hopefully the Blackberry BOLD will do the thing.
