Hi everyone,
I got my X1 just before Xmas, and so far am loving it. Just two things that I am concerned about:
1. The cell signal is usually very low - fluctuates between 1 or 2 bars. (However when I do make/receive calls, it is clear). With one experiment, I placed my brother's htc diamond next to it, and his showed full signal strength.
2. On two occasions, (after the battery died), i tried to charge the x1 using the supplied two pin charger. Nothing happened -even after leaving it in there for a while. I eventually removed the battery and inserted it back in which seemed to do the trick - it started charging again.
Thus due to these 2 issues, I have not done any tweaks to the phone or installed any apps.
With such an expensive phone, it is worrying me.
I couldn't take the phone back sooner as its a corporate deal and the mtn shop where I got it from only opened a few days ago.
What do you guys think and what options do I have at this point?
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 has just been outed a couple of weeks ago, and this early some Europen owners who bought the handset despite its high price are complaining that their units are showing some cracks on the casings.
The XDA-Developers site has already reported 24 cases or units with the said problem. The cracks are appearing near the stylus compartment while others are seeing the cracks somewhere near the battery compartment of their Xperia X1.
For those who haven’t seen the cracks on their phones, here’s some glimmer of hope for you. The said crack problem have affected only the silver Xperia X1’s with a production week range of 08W44-08W46. So you better check out your Xperia X1 and see if it falls in the said production week. You can easily see this by checking out your unit’s information sticker which you can find inside the phone if you remove your phone’s battery.
If you Xperia X1 fall in the said category, better head back to your Sony Ericsson dealer where you got the phone and tell them about the report. They might change it with a newer model of the Xperia X1.
Got a Omnia today as a secondary phone. I must say, it's definately better than the X1.

just an FYI regarding the issue with cracks appearing on the XI. note this from an overseas site. Not sure if Sony locally will do the same for us?
