As I needed to buy 5000 pounds the exchange rate bombs out completely at 21.47, is there anything in the next week that would improve this or has it completely bombed out now

Inclined to think it'll weaken further @ water situation. But not much.

Rand hit a new low against the dollar today after non-farm payrolls data was released in the us. 14.17, eina. I was crying at 13... Need to move State side methinks!

Just wait till US hikes interest rates..... then R14 to the Dollar will seem like a brilliant exchange rate.

What do you guys think? R16 or maybe even R20 to the USD?

It's like the petrol price, up 10% then down 5%, rinse, repeat. We can even say one day it will be R50 to the USD, its only a matter of when.

Apologetic much?
Well no. But since I'm living in this country for at least the near future, I don't take pleasure in predicting us inevitable going down in flames. We need to have a balanced view and reality is, all emerging markets are getting screwed. We may be getting screwed more, but it's not isolated to us.

Well Zim at least functions off the USD now, so not so bad in that respect. At least it finally has a stable currency.

I'm hoping the Rand doesn't wearing too much over the next four months. Does anyone think we will get into the mid 20's at this rate?
