I've upgraded my Telkom Mobile contract through Telkom's contact centre... and I've been reading online a lot of people complaining that their device just never got delivered ... probably should have checked this first, but too late now ...

Wondering if anyone has some sound advice here? Anyone to maybe contact - I really miss Charl from Telkom here :(
 
Okay? So you upgraded and haven't received the device yet? Did you upgrade just now or last night? Or has it been weeks?

Maybe try to go directly to the store and ask them to check on their systems where's your order. In future don't order things over the phone.

Haha! I wish I lived in a country with overnight real delivery! Sadly, I don't believe in the easter bunny or santa

Yeah, tried to ask the store, the guy there said they don't have access to orders done through the call centre (which sounds really odd?)

But agreed, the only point is, often deals are only through online... they should do away with that and just make it that can also get the deals in store
 
Don't deal with Telkom online. It seems the online portal's staff has no idea what is actually going on.

Has your device not been delivered or are you just making a thread about it expecting it not to be delivered?

Vodacom does the same thing.
It's nonsense to call it an online deal or be able to get a contract online when the majority of the work is done over the phone.

If it's online you should be able to fill all the forms online then scan and upload whatever documents they need and when they deliver , the driver can hand a form to you sign that you agree to the deal.

Jisses how is that... customer doesn't even give them a chance to deliver and opens up a thread complaining about it.

If this is the trend, maybe I should open up a thread complaining about slow delivery times from TakeAlot because I heard a bunch of other people complain about it and placed an order this morning. OH MAN I MADE A MISTAKE!!!!!! DONT DEAL WITH TAKEALOT GUYS

Ordered it beginning of the month - they said 4 - 7 working days and if you took a second to actually google, you'll see that there is obviously a massive problem Telkom are having with online deliveries

Maybe get off your high horse pricks

Don't deal with Telkom online. It seems the online portal's staff has no idea what is actually going on.

Yeah, feel really bad for them though, they given a task and it's impossible for them to complete... and then people call in and hammer them - always find when I call them, you can hear they're proper down - it's not their fault, no point in taking it out on them - in fact, they're trying to help you

Maybe, just maybe, when you complain, actually provide detail about the order and when it was placed before looking for a sympathetic shoulder to cry on.

Although I agree, taking a month to deliver is bad, you should definitely contact someone more senior to find out whats happening. Maybe try to log a formal call and escalate that though their helpdesk channel?

Don't see the relevance, you really assume I would order yesterday and then come complain - I'm actually a huge fan of Telkom and this is the first time I've had such a bad experience - I brag about how good Telkom is in terms of the mobile offering all the time.... so when I came to post here, I didn't think I would be attacked and assumed to be wrong

But I guess you did the same thing to me that you accused me of doing... oh well...

The problem with your initial post is that you sounded like a right twat crying about something no one cares about, and you provide absolutely no detail whatsoever. It's all in the way you came across in your initial post that the problem occurred

If you stated that you ordered it a month ago and that you have tried calling them with no luck and spoken to various people but you are now stuck, you might have gotten a lot better replies.

Thank you for the life lesson sir, I really appreciate you pointing that out. I really feel my life changing for the better now.

I have been on the forums for quite a while and I can assure you not everyone is really awesome and come here to share a good story. There are a few bad apples around here. That being said, I've received and offered help on the forums many times, so maybe you shouldn't assume anything before knowing the facts.

I hope you have a smashing day further, and that you get your Telkom issue resolved.

Then why didn't you google before you placed the order? Surely you can't expect us to google it for you to let you know you're making a mistake?
