That depends on a lot of factors.

If you're RA is worth more than R300k, then it is worth investigating.

My RA is through my employer, hence I do not have an option to receive the benefits of the lower fees in the short term.

Financial chappie comes and show me an email purported to be from our CEO, asking to pay a supplier.

Email address gave it all away, it is a scam. No monies have been paid yet.

So I told the finances guy to absolutely waste the scammer's time, make up all sorts of excuses and just string him along.

This pleases me greatly.

"We'll make payment as soon as you fax through certified copies of the vendor's tax registration certificate, ID, proof of address, the invoice for goods and services provided". Then provide a valid fax number in Nigeria.

The amount of January birthdays in my circle - likely the most valid reason not to get any of them a gift. :)
