Things to do when your cap runs out

All of the links in this list are "local only" meaning that you can get to them from local bandwidth only. They may look international, but the servers they are running on are located within our perimeter of "local access" .

If you are not yet capped though, you will of course be using your international cap to access any of these sites (including the South African ones).

Rather purchase a local only account or wait until you are capped to access these sites.
 
I haven't read all the commentary, so apologies if this point has already been made... but it is just wrong that this thread even exists.

It is after all the "world wide web". But not in SA. I mean I fkin hate the ripoff fascist ITC sector in our country. We're way behind.

Imagine trying to compile a list of usefull sites worldwide. Now that would be a challenge.

I'm glad Ivy has fked up and will probably be on her way out.

oh ok so if i have 3 gigs international and 30 gigs local, no matter where i surf i will always be using my international gigs even if i am only on this forum, once that 3 gigs are up i start using local?

That is correct - Telkom calls that first 3GB the blended cap. After you get capped, you are then on the 30GB local only portion.
 
ok now i understand its a pity we cannot convert our local to international, maybe i must ask that question to telkom at the conference.

Yes, that is correct. That is why so many people have two accounts, one for local and one for International.

I just have to fix somebody's laptop quick tonight after supper then will be online.

So we are determined that this website is ONLY for links that are accessible with local cap? Cos we don't need another South African site index... although what is out there is pretty crap anyway.

I meant the promo piece. But if you have another list in you then certainly it would be good.


NO WAY is this another SA website index... this is a place for ALL locally hosted media and websites. We have no morals. I am listing porn sites too.

Everything on the website is Locally Hosted, it is a LIVE link system which means new links are available all the time.

Go and Register and help build SA's local Internet.
 
Yay! Looks very professional! Me will throw something together. Was out all evening changing the locks at our office. A set of keys were stolen so we had to secure the building :(
 
Thanks everyone for the help up to this point.

Tonight we will be uploading some exclusive interviews with local website owners and other cool content that might make your Local Internet experience much better.

Also there are New Links to Local Websites going to be uploaded all week because apparently there are hundreds of them :D

Lastly I hope you guys can help us out by going to register and then just Submitting as much cool local content as you want. Comments on other links. Rate other links submitted and more. It is through this process that we get our new permanent links.
