So turns out the REQUEST CANCELLATION button on the rain website does absolutely jack ****

damn, makes sense since so many people after "cancelling" end up getting handed over to debt collectors

You can checkout request cancellation anytime, but you can never leave cancel.
 
Do it my way... Touch wood i have had no issues...

looks like an angular app.. it *could* have a conveniently broken event listener..

Yup, even outside of angular I've never seen a production app use an onclick attribute. It is always done with event listeners, be it via jQuery, vanillaJs or one of the many frameworks.
