This is the Telkom LIT Android media box

I'm paying R98 per month over 12 months. Didn't sign anything. Just added it to my account.
With the lit option i.e zero data?

Besides zero data what other benefits does it offer?

I have netflix app on tv and showmax on explora. Rest I cast from phone via chromecast.

I have the 10mbps home unlimited installed 13 Sept. Telkom says I ordered before it was an option for the package. So sadly missed out on it.

I don't have the "zero rated" option. I use my own data from Afrihost. Got 100GB Capped Account.

Will see how it goes the next couple of days and then decide if I should get a higher package.

Reason for my question , with the dstv now android app you require a wireless mouse for full screen tv using the mibox according to posts on the android tv thread
Is there no adapter you could buy? ;)

The Screensaver has some real nice photos. Only problem is that while watching DSTVNow, the Screensaver activates even while you watching something.

So I guess I will set it to 2 hours seeing that you can't disable it at all.

The screensaver is normal Google chromecast. Nice pics. But if it runs for many hours the megabytes for the pics constantly downloading adds up! But on chromecast you can reduce the rate of new pics appearing. Havent played with this version yet.

10mbps fibre supposed to be 950Gb FUP but will see.

DUDE! RTFM.

It’s right there and says use the HomeTV2 App.

:)

Lol

I'm still in the market for a android tv.

Oh right I remember now you were asking pre-purchase.

So far it's not terrible and I'm actually quite impressed.

It's no Apple TV, but then I'm sure a proper Google Android TV unit would be much closer to that experience over this Fong Kong option.

@Dolby pass through works via Plex when going directly through Receiver.

But when connected to TV directly it doesn't work more than likely due to the stereo limitation imposed by ARC.

Thanks man.

Dolby TrueHD ?
Or DTS / DD ?

EDIT : For the sound testing I did go direct to the AVR. For the video testing, I'd go direct to the TV

Crashy crashy Bang bang.

If it wasn’t free I would be losing my ****.

And so much for the false marketing. There is no Netflix and no Apple Music which is what I really wanted it for.

Hopefully a few updates later it will work properly.

I have my PS4 connected to my tv, with ARC to the receiver (because my receiver doesn't have HDMI 2.0 ports).

DTS/DD is passed through fine via ARC.

However on the Netflix app on my tv, which uses DD+, the signal is passed through to my receiver via ARC, but there's no audio. Have to switch to stereo on the app to get any audio.

I'm not sure if that's relevant. But it seems to me like anything other than DTS/DD may have an issue via ARC...
