And so much for the false marketing. There is no Netflix and no Apple Music which is what I really wanted it for.

It is available for download - it's just that when you open it, you get the error. Most people here are side loading

Yea I think ARC can only do DTS/DD - but I tried going direct from LIT to AVR. My receiver doesn't have HDMI 2.0 either - but HDMI 1.4 is alright for TrueHD and that's not working. But it could be Plex not being able to pass?

I know had no issue with any DTS/DD track - it was just lossless.

Do you have HDMI 1.4?
Able to see if you can get it running?
 
I think arc might rely on what your TV can interpret (usually on stereo downmix). If the TV can't interpret the signal then it will pass no stream.
 
guys, can someone please confirm if DSTV now is working yet? Or do you HAVE to side-load?

And if you have to side-load, what version software is required for LIT device and what version DSTV Now is required, and how the heck to I do it?

I sold my Roku yesterday, and I'm sitting without a media device. Need to make the call on whether I'm going with this Telkom LIT device or something else from another local source (in which case I would appreciate a recommendation, as all I want is Netflix and DSTV now)

DSTVNow works.

Install ES File Explorer on your Media Player.

Download DSTVNow 1.3 from APKPURE onto a flashdrive. (you do that on your computer)

Then stick the flashdrive into your Media Player and install the DSTVNow app using ES File Explorer.

That's it.

All this side-loading, going to make this device a playground for malware as people who don't know what they're doing try to get unsupported apps installed.

Not the most in depth review but for the other new comers on here, for R1000 or R45 pm this device does what it needs to do and im pretty happy with it.... no to show my wife how it works

Does the box not have a hibernate setting , with my Apple TV , I hibernate, power on is instant , I rarely ever reboot it. Maybe 2 or 3 times in a year.

Yes. Mine is set to go into Standby when I press the power button.
Pressing the button again gets it out of standby instantly.

OK.. im guessing theres alot more people streaming now.. might be issues on DSTV side and not the app..

Version 1.40 plays fine but doesnt go above 360p for some reason and full screen is not automatic.. need to decompile this apk and see if i can change some settings.. will play with it this week
