This is the Telkom LIT Android media box

can confirm Android 7.1.2 was loaded on mine , and i got mine more than a week back. maybe you just got a badly managed store that didn't send it back as requested.

Could be but they will let me know when I’m getting the other one with the correct version

HDMI CEC doesn't work?

I had no issue with HDMI CEC, albeit it on the IR remote. Didn't pay attention to the dongle AirMouse remote.

I'm wondering if the remote isn't the issue

EDIT : It definitely worked via my Samsung TV using Samsung remote

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m referring to.

Also on a Samsung and Remote wasn’t working. PS4 works fine though so I know it should work.

And my suspicion is these settings live under the broken TV Settings menu.

The Samsung can “see” and will switch it on via the CEC menu but doesn’t respond after that.

Maybe it will be happier with the HiSense at my old man’s where I want to install it.

Ok I lent my unit to a friend, so can't even test right now. I'm positive mine worked though.

I'm guessing it's enabled in the menu?

The remote type shouldn't make any difference - so it's weird.
 
Okay clear cache and data for TV settings and then Restart and it seems to work.
 
HDMI-CEC works perfectly for me , had to enable a slider under settings , just using the supplied remote
 
Ok.. Dstv now below versions 1.30.4 do not work on the lit box.. I assume cos of Android7.1.2.. 1.30.4 to 1.36.1 have interface that goes full screen immediately but have dimming.. Above that version u have to use air mouse to go full screen but bitrate doesnt go above 360p..

Anybody else have work arounds for dstv now
 
Is dstv now not one of the apps that they said will be officially supported?

What is meant by dimming on the older versions? Darker video quality?
 
Is the casting function working on the LIT Box ? Access Dstv Now through casting from phone for now maybe.

Version 1.30.4 to 1.36.1 the video dimms.. like on your smart phone the brightness dims when you not using it.. Picture is ok but not bright.. i have been checking some apps such as lux, screen brightness control, etc to alter the brightness but havent tested much.. if 1 one of those apps work and then we sorted for dstv..

Yes Dstv now is supposed to officially supported but only time will tell if this is true.. in the mean time we can have fun trying to get this box to work properly.. basically put together a 1 time setup that we all can use with Kodi, dstv now and other apps
