This is the Telkom LIT Android media box

Erm. Youre upset about the name? Errr....ok...Marius Flash.... lol.

Not upset , just not impressed like I said? Surely they could have found a better name for their Android box? Oh wait , I forgot it is from Telkom, Aaahhh now i get it:p

It depends from person to person.

I was pleasantly surprised to be quite frank.

For R40.60 per month (x24) I get an Android TV box that supports: Netflix (albeit via sidelaunching which works a breeze - even my 7 year old can install), Kodi, DSTV Now (sidelaunch) and Showmax, and pretty much everything else. Sure there are some teething problems. But nothing major as far as I am concerned.

Then it supports Google casting (acts like a chromecast), have a remote that is not too shabby in my opinion (sure you can get better - but it will also cost you a bit), is powerful enough to playback most of the demanding sources out there, and have 3 USB slots and one SPDIF slot. Bot bad for R40.60 a month or about a grand I think in cash... ;)
3 USB slots??
Mine has 2???? Wtf?.?

Does anyone know which store in JHB i can get this device for cash or on my telkom account for R40.60 ?

+1

Kodi and Plex are fantastic on this box - and that's just over R1,000.00?

Hardware for the price is great with HDMI 2.0, HDR etc - so kinda does everything

I have installed Kodi. I am on Telkom LTE uncapped. I get speeds between 25-35 mbps but it still buffers continuously to a point where you cannot watch anything HD via Kodi. I have a Real Debrid account, done the Ares cache/buffer allocation trick but still the same. Any tips and ideas?

Connected via wifi or cable?

Is that not a Kodi issue?

I'm sure I remember reading tons of complaints

I had a mygica atv582 and it worked perfectly fine. 1080p movies with 5.1 dolby sound worked flawlessly. Going to fiddle around a little more. I must be missing or doing something that it doesn't like.

I assume that the update app is to update the firmware? Does yours also give an error when running update in the app?

I have a 8mbit adsl line. I'm watching 1080p content on Kodi connected to wifi without any buffering issues.

The reason why I'm using wifi is because 3G Watchdog doesn't pick up data usage when connected via Lan Cable. Strange.

My problem seems to be with real debrid. Can watch HD streams other than Real debrid. Does the same on my S6 when tested. Any Debrid stream just buffers like crazy. Can watch 4k YouTube videos with ease on the LIT.

guys, anyone in Cape Town that has managed to find the LIT Box with the latest firmware installed?

Clearly Canal Walk (as per previous thread) is still selling old devices!!
