No I just have to get DSTVNow running.

I got dstv now running.. using version 1.30

BUT.. theres a but.. the picture is very dim.. i read on the droid thread on mybb that newer versions have this dimming feature enabled.. will read up more but people have said using DSTV Now version 1.6 works well but terrible interface

@ Dolby, did you change any audio settings in Kodi. or PLEX.

Yup.

So the device itself, I set HDMI RAW and in both Kodi & Plex settings, I selected Audio Passthrough

EDIT :

On Plex, it does say it's a Dolby TrueHD track and it does allow you to select the audio tream for Dolby TrueHD - but it doesn't seem to play it. My thought be *maybe* the processor - but the thing is when I select a DTS or DD track, it auto switches and plays correctly

1. i side loaded aptoid apk via usb
2. on aptoid, download chrome beta v62
3. launch chrome, search dstv now in google..
4. open site apkpure which is hosting dstv now apk
5. scroll down and see previous versions, click show more
6. download.. go to downloads page in chrome and install from there once downloaded..
7. else.. download on pc and sideload via usb.. use es file manager

Now any file u need you can google it using chrome, download and install

I never used the android version of kodi. But on pc, I hard a gpu that did not support DolbyHD and DTS-HD, kodi did not give me the options to select these audio streams. It doesnt matter to most but i just prefer my AVR to light up the with the correct settings

Dnt know on the top of my head? But I know i was watching one of the Christian Bale Batman's the other day and it had the True HD stream. I prefer having the master audio if available, for movies. I'm one of those that like re - watching older movies and the audio visual experience, not just collecting, just to have.

Ah ok - yea back in the day I collected just to have.

But nowadays I fully reply on streaming legit movies / series. Many are alraedy UHD HDR and Netflix is starting to (albeit like one or two titles when I last read) Dolby Atmos. I reckon in under 2 years Netflix is going to take car of all your audio video experience needs!

On my Mi Box, I've had issues with Dolby TrueHD in Plex, it transcodes the audio do Dolby Digital+ instead. But using the Plex addon in Kodi, it works fine. I have Plex set to audio passthrough, so in essence it shouldn't try and transcode at all.

Yup, that's the way forward. I do streaming also, but i still prefer a blu ray now and then of certain things
So these android boxes are just awesome for that. One stop shop. So hopefully this Telkom box "turns " out fine. It looks promising.
