This is when Windows 10 will be retired

It is still not confirmed whether Microsoft will unveil a brand new version of Windows or just an overhaul of its current Windows 10 operating system next week.

However, reports recently appeared online suggesting that Microsoft quietly set 14 October 2025 as the End of Support date for Windows 10, adding fuel to rumours that Windows 11 would be announced.

Tom's Hardware was the first to report that the Windows 10 Home and Pro Lifecycle page had been updated to reflect an official retirement date for the OS for the first time.

This is interesting..

I'm wondering if this isn't a precursor to them labelling specific builds as EOS rather than the version itself, but its just easier to start with the version having an EOS entry for the moment while they figure out the logistics of how to do this within a version of Windows itself.

What do you mean? There's already EOS dates for specific builds of Windows 10.

Anyone else hear the slowed down startup sound and think a buggy, virus infested hanged up Windows?

Im very happy with Windows 10
It is their best version yet, since XP Service Pack 3 :thumbsup:
I loved XP SP3 but Win7 SP1 with the various updates thereafter was bullet proof to me. But yea, Win 10 as it stands now is pretty solid and I'm very much happy with it.

I wasn't on Win 7 for long, maybe a month or 2 when I had to upgrade to 10 because of work so I cant comment there :thumbsup:

Wasn't 10 just released though, I mean it's almost like they are just releasing new versions to make money or something :unsure:
I'm still on Windows 7 so don't really care until I buy a new laptop.

XP = Great
Vista = Sucked
W7 = Great
W8 = Sucked
W10 = Great
W? = Might suck since everything in between just sucked. MS is capable of screwing it up even coming from a great OS.

W8.1 = Semi-sucked

Maybe we'll finally have another version that can compete with Windows 7.

How exactly does W10 suck? I have had zero issues with it at all. Even those plagued releases a few months ago did nothing to my machine.

Pretty sure I remember reading 14October 2025 is the period of Great Reset somewhere. Windows 10 is good, can be better.

Maybe the next upgrade will be called Sunvalley

This is such a weird article

MS has release cycle life management for every build. This includes long life enterprise versions but the consumer versions have a short support life. All they are the original Windows 10 build had a long term life cycle and will have eol. There is 2 releases a year. Windows 10 is SaaS offering and not a Waterfall version. The first release was treated with a bit more of a waterfall not agile, SaaS offering
