Anyone who uses linux (that gives you the option in grub to boot into windows), keep in mind that if your boot drive isn't the same in the BIOS than your windows installation, that Windows 10 won't try to install saying "Something Went Wrong" (great error guys @ Microsoft, even my own programmers were stumped)

So changing your boot drive to primary windows install will help (yes, even if you download the ISO instead of Windows Update)

I didn't have this issue and loaders are on different drives. Did you do upgrade or direct install from bootable media?

Upgrade. I couldn't get the windows update to go through so this morning I did the media creation tool to do the upgrade. That also failed with the "Something went wrong, we can't determine if the PC is upgradable" type message. I opted to download the ISO. Then I extracted that using WinRAR. It still didn't work, so I then made the boot drive for windows the primary one and it started going through the install process, further than it got without having it the primary

Thanks for the heads-up :D Well, there's a much better alternative -> Install Linux OSes on virtual machines. It's cleaner and zero hassle.

I actually prefer Linux being my primary OS and having to boot into Windows. Busy upgrading so I am IOMMU compatible that I can do GPU passthrough with almost no performance hit in gaming in windows without using Wine.
