Not looking good for me also :(

15k in savings pocket is a joke ,massive increase over the 2k :(

Stuff i will have to do now to get level 5.

• Draft and keep your signed Will in FNB’s custody and
where FNB is the executor - wonder what will cost?

Use between 10% and 90% of your budget and
your straight facility- Going to buy something about R300 on budget and pay it off , Will make my budget limit R500 , so it is between 10-90%

Only swipe your card or use Cash@Till
(no ATM or FNB Branch withdrawals). Easy enough will tranffer money to my easy account and withdraw then, if i need cash asap.

• Swipe your Cheque or Credit Card for purchases
abroad - Wonder if buy something for dollars online if this will be triggered?

Yes I know.
However, what I see on Online Banking differs from the points breakdown my private banker sent me for my account.
eBucks. Com go to my ebucks, then go to my earn under it, you will see it all listed like that how you earn, the reward level points to move up to a certain level.

That coincides with what OLB shows me.
I wonder what my PB is smoking ;)

Damn, need to find 2k points from somewhere :/

He probably listed current month, as opposed to previous month - you can click on it to see how it's made up, which I like in terms of function, but the month is not closed out - so some points aren't listed as yet until the month is over.

No, she listed stuff that isn't there any more - eg, having homeowners insurance with FNB... and she listed having a will in custody as a max of 2000 points (I get 1000, ebucks site says max 1000).

2k points, easy peasy, if the pic you listed, details what you received from your PB, just call eBucks, tell them to update your marketing consent +1000 and whilst you are still online with them ask them if you can update your contact details +1000.

Request the same from your PB and for triple threat, go to onto online banking and update your details (for some weird reason, they removed the marketing consent from online banking).

They will give you the +2000 for these two on a repeated basis for the next 12 months.

Not according to the ebucks site. In that, there's one allocation of 1000 for contact details and marketing consent...

Can someone clarify the use of 10% cc limit. Is it 10% on total limit I.e. Budget AND straight or 10% of budget OR straight?

Seems like on platinum without a credit card on platinum you are greatly punished. I don't have a home loan so I basically can get max 9000 points. Don't u pay extra fees for a credit card?

Anyone know the process to downgrade to gold? Would I stay on my fee saver?

Zero inventive for the savings pocket and bank your change, zero incentive for roadside assistance. Personally think they have greatly swayed the odds, I'll be lucky to make level 1... Was on route to level 3!

Slightly different but I doubt I'll get to even level 2 on platinum. With gold I could push to level 4.
I'm in the exact same boat. I got my platinum account at the start of the year, I'm one month away from level 3 and a few more from level four which I could have sustained.
My credit card is with Discovery, so based on this new set-up I would go straight to level 1 with 6500 points. I'll make sure I redeem all my points for vouchers next month while I'm on level 3.

Looks like my best bet will be to downgrade to gold, move my credit card to FNB gold, and then with a bit of a push I could also get to level 4. Level 5 doesn't seem likely without having to throw a lot of cash at some or other FNB product which isn't worth it.

Would alos like to knw what accounts qualify as an investment?

This from the platinum rewards earn rules:
Have an FNB Investment with a minimum balance of:

R10 000 - R49 999

Is a 32day notice account considere as an investment.

Well that R15k thing does changes it a bit slightly. All I will do now is:
- get rid of the silly savings pocket.
- move spending over to CC, but leave the money I would have used, in my cheque account
- then come month end, as I get paid my salary, you then pay of you CC.

That way, you should be able to keep at least R15k in your cheque account throughout the month, and you don't fall into the trap of spending what you don't have.

It really does suck that they want you to move your spending towards the CC. I agree with most, the new ebucks system is retarded. Then again, at the end of the day, the bank wants to make money.

Was working off your image, but I will relook.

I've posted two sets of images in this thread recently - that one from the private banker, and a few posts back a screenshot from online banking...

I created a little spreadsheet with the new rules. Currently populated with how I will earn.

I'm on platinum with my cheque account and private clients with my credit card. Will be downgrading the CC to platinum today.

Link to my spreadsheet. I have a another copy so the link is an editable excel sheet.

thanks for the spreadsheet signates .... if only FNB had something similar that would allow you to determine your level/points from a spend pattern, would make understanding the product a lot easier

It looks like a Gold account is the way to go. I just downgraded from Private to Platinum and now I'm going to have to downgrade again to Gold.

Surely FNB must understand that this will make those people that can't get to level 5 on a higher product downgrade?

+1

Thread is moving rather fast, can you purchase fuel with a CC and not pay any interest from transaction date, or will they treat it as cash?

I think it is, I will go route of 10K in Fixed Deposit for 12 months, get 6.10%/6.27% - better than MoneyMarket rates and don't need it in a hurry.
