Tips to Boost your eBucks

So apparently the share builder doesn't qualify for this rule :

Have an FNB Investment Account (excluding an Equity Trading Account) and maintain a minimum monthly balance of:
Between R10 000 and R49 999
R50 000 or more

Specifically opened the account to get to RW5. Missed out by 1,000 points.

Question: If I do the "will" thing today, will I get those points when they do September's calculation, or will it only count from October?

I was 100% sure that I was going to drop to level 4 due to an unthinking cheque card swipe. When I try to view my reward level on the FNB site, it bombs out, but my Checkers earn is in the transaction history, and based on that amount, it looks as if I somehow might still be on level 5.

I feel antsy making this post, and I'm wondering if those eBucks will be disappearing soon. Has anyone ever experienced their eBucks amount changing after an initial amount has been added to the account?

With regards to:

1. Have an Investment Account and maintain a monthly balance of R10 000 or more.

2. Have a scheduled transfer/payment of at least R500 into an Investment Account and maintain a minimum monthly balance of R5 000 in the same account.

I only opened that account and set the scheduled transfer in August. Does that mean it doesn't count yet and will only start counting towards my eBucks level from next month? Because currently they aren't included.

Where do you schedule this transfer? Does the regular scheduling count as "automatic" because then I can do it myself as well.

Correct, from Oct onwards. So you will get those points only in Nov

If I remember correctly when I created the account I set it to transfer a certain amount every month into the account.

Mine's in... but I'm about 2000eB down according to my calcs. CC and Online is spot-on , but checkers and fuel are both less.
It was the saem thing last month but I let it go to see if it was just an anomaly

Anyone else?

I agree, but there is a rule for fuel. Fuel is determined by max 20% of your overall spending for that month.

I did that over the phone when they started it up, but seems they cocked it up.

I'll try the regular scheduled transfer for next month.

My calcs work out the limits and work with that.. so I'm definitely not hitting them. Could it be because I'm using transactions from the 1st-30/31st when ebucks calcs are using a different cycle?

I played a bit now with numbers

Lets say you put in R2000 for fuel for the month, and you spend R8500 (total spend minus fees), then you will get only 1700eB for fuel.

How does your calculations look like ?

Not sure if you can read excel :D

=IF((C9/$H9<20%),(C9*0.15*-1),"M")

In essence, it works out my fuel to total spend ratio, and if less than 20% it works out my 15% eB earnings, otherwise it plants a big M for MAXED under my earnings.

And what happens to the Checkers/Fuel spend above 20% of total monthly spend? Do we still get eB at the normal CC swipe rates, or do we just not get any eB at all?

It would be cool if there was a dedicated FNB budget type app that will monitor your fuel and checkers spending vs overall.
