On platinum I smashed the online and in-store spend limits hard last month (expected). I set up two browser windows and compared with Private Clients. The earn rate is higher and the limits slightly higher, but I would only get about eB2000 more. At a baseline rate that's R200 and the monthly fee difference is about R150 I think, so R50 per month if this kept happening. Not really asking anything, just wondering aloud at what point I should think about PC instead of Platinum. I think it'd be if I were to use the extras, like often going to Slow Lounge, eBucks Lifestyle and so on. For now, the real limit is the 0.6% post-cap rate on both account types - I really wish they didn't do that for online spend.

Yeah the online cap is really killing me. I am trying to force the SO to shop at checkers now lol

Use to earn around 16k now its 9k :(

Also on PC the overdraft is free for any amount used ,so you can get that 2000 points for using your overdraft without it costing you money.

Well the question is do you foresee yourself always spending at least what you currently spend? I;m trying to curb my spending, on PLatinum, but in no danger of dropping to RL4.

I forget now, are the rules for getting to PC RL5 identical to Platinum?

Asking myself that and have no answer. It seems like every month is an "odd" month, always some other thing happening that costs money whether for necessities or celebratory events. So no, I don't want to forsee myself keeping this up, but looking at history it might look that way. But even so, sticking with Platinum seems fine for the next few months or until the rules change.

Yes the RL rules are the same.

Hey guys,

I need to buy a tv but game seems to be cheaper.

Have you ever asked Checkers house&home to beat or match the same item from a rival store?

I havent been able to get anybody on the phone who is able to make that decision yet.

I want my 15% from checkers.

eBucks can be earned and spent at supermarkets in the Checkers, Shoprite, Checkers Hyper, and Usave brands as well as all branches of Shoprite and Checkers LiquorShop in South Africa.

^ Does H&H even qualify as Checkers spend?

Yes they do. It falls under checkers hyper.

Checkers Hyper offers the same specialty food selections and great value as Checkers, but within large-format stores that encourage bulk rather than convenience shopping. The general merchandise ranges are far wider in Hyper stores, focusing on categories like small appliances, pet accessories, garden and pool care, outdoor gear, home improvement, home ware, baby products, toys and stationery.

Earned 19K in Ebucks and stayed on level 5 with 21000 points without breaking a sweat. It's a pity though that FNB really wants you to go into debt (by using your credit card so much) in order to reap the rewards that is Ebucks. It kind of is bad banking practice in my opinion.

These are probably the easiest rules to reach higher levels with and also most profitable for the bank

Did not get my 1000 points for logging into the FNB App 4 times (Which I did more than 4 times) :(

You should complain.

Are you on gold or platinum? Platinum only requires you to do 1 transaction via the app per month.

You can't make that assumption for eBucks though.
Look at wesbank vs branded finance deals run through wesbank. One gets you points, one doesn't...

You don't need to go into debt to use your credit card. If you pay it off in full each month you're not really going into debt, nor are you paying interest on it.

Strange.

On the home page it says I'm on RL4 but when I go into the calculator it says I am RL5 which seems to be correct when I look at ebucks earned for last month.

They'll probably update it later.

I believe this is standard as I've had that happen since day 1 of opening my account.
