Yep, just tried to link it. R200/year.

I'll have to think about it first.

When you get to L5 you'll make that back in a month, at the minimum. Heck you'll make back about half of that with one tank of fuel...

Free, if your credit card colour matches your cheque card (both are gold, or both are platinum etc)

Same reason I never liked multiple accounts at the same banks etc.

I want to see all my money in one place. Same reason my wife and I prefer to have one joint account as it's everything in our household incoming/outgoing all under the same banner.

Now add two credit cards to that and we might as well have separate accounts because it's everything all over the place then.

Better query that then.
You shouldn't have been billed - provided your credit card matches your cheque card in colour

Both Gold. So I do not qualify for the bundled option.
But using the CC I will no doubt make up that R200 in no time :)

Well if you don't want to play the game you don't reap the rewards... Seems a pretty simple equation.

BTW, you can have a single CC account, with two cards linked to it.

Joint accounts don't earn ebucks IIRC. But to avoid your account-o-phobia you can have one account with 2 credit cards (primary and secondary). Easy peasy.

You pay R200 a year to link you CC to eBucks IIRC

100% correct. R200 was deducted with the description "#JAARLIKSE EBUCKS FOOI "

But you will make that up within 1 months of ebucks rewards. So if you think in the long term, its worth the R200 fee

Oh I understand the equation perfectly and I wasn't complaining about it, I was simply answering the question as to why I don't want a credit card even if it means getting less points.

Yes that is how the Cheque account is setup now. I might get a CC in the future once I get into this whole thing but for now I'm quite happy with my cheque only.

FYI I do actually have a CC and so does my wife with Virgin, but it's used purely for business expenses or in case of a big cashflow issue.

There is no such thing as a joint account, so the rewards are the exact same.

But yes if we do end up going the CC route it will be one account en klaar.

I hope so :p

I'm trying to "save" as much as possible.

So with GOLD I can get to level 5?
