Interesting that you say that. I'm in my first month at FNB and should reach RL4 this month and step up to RL5 next month when my debit orders etc kick in.

Does anyone know if airtime purchased through the app/online contribute to my total spend?

Gold or Premier?

If Premier, how da fuk?

This month I should get points for inContact, contact detail update etc (1000), not using a branch (1000), doing at least one transaction electronically (1000), credit card and cash@till use only (1500), autopayment (1000), premier bundled option (1000), spend at least R1000 online (2000), 100% of my spend on credit card (4000), between R10k and R25k spend (1500) for a total of 14000 points. I've set up a R10000 overdraft on the cheque account and will transfer funds to the savings pocket account for one night next week to qualify for the 2000 overdraft points. The overdraft will cost me R57, but it'll increase my ebucks reward for the month by around R300-R500, depending on my spend for the rest of the month. That's 16000 points which gets met to RL4.

Next month my debit orders should kick in for another 500 points. I've put R10k in a 3 month flexi-fixed deposit (1500) and set up a scheduled transfer for R500 to that account (1000). That works out to 19000 points = RL5.

Before you get happy .... Think a lot of rules are changing as of July 2016 !

Lets see !

Last year was the biggest change in years as FNB went digital. Meaning, requesting people to use digital media ... and to withdraw cash at NON ATM locations.

I have no doubt that there will be changes - I'm just not convinced they'll necessarily translate to fewer eBucks. Might have to tweak behaviour here or there to maximise eBucks but not expecting drastic changes to the principle of the program.

I see the earn rate on credit card is now 'up to' 2% vs the 3% currently.

If they are making it easier to get from 3 to 5, then the earn or benefits will be going down.

There is no way they are just going to open the flood gates to give people 40% off on flights and Makro spending.

The bank has removed the points system from its Gold accounts, so that these customers will now also be placed on a reward level based on the products they hold, which will determine the eBucks rewards and discounts they enjoy.

The number of different product groups in which they hold products will determine reward levels for Easy and Gold account holders. These product groups comprise cheque, credit card, loans, savings, FNB Connect, asset finance and investments.

One product group is equivalent to one reward level, up to a maximum of level five.

Bleh
