TomTom defends map data systems following Apple Maps glitches

Well, yes some POI are incorrect, but there are also display issues (missing colours, "roller coasters" and places that are "smeared").

Running iOS 6 on iPad 2 and must say I will NOT depend on it for a while.

Apple should approve google maps in the app store and then "relaunch" their own maps in a while. If they don't allow google maps, well then they are just sore loosers. Have apple and tomtom fix the issues and then prove it is better (and release something like mapkit of apple maps).

Has google even submitted an app, or is everyone just content blaming apple?

When has Apple ever put their customers first?

They just care about insane profits for their shareholders.

*If you think about it, iOS cannot even be considered in the same league as Windows Phone 8 and Android now.

Much as I dislike Apple, you want them not to look after their shareholders? It is business after all, not charity. Fully agree about the lack of customer respect for choice though.

Fully agree with you on the shareholders bit, but I'm sure you can make your customers and shareholders happy at the same time.

Speculation unfortunately - "Google believed to be waiting for Apple to approve its own Maps app"

It is very unfortunate for Apple, they can't win this one.

All I see is a big win for Android, either way. :)

Or... You could say that Apple have apparently sold more 5s in three days than they sold 4Ss in a month, some projecting 8M this weekend and 27M in the first month... Or... You could say that the launch pushed Apple shares to their highest point ever... Or... You could say that analysts now believe the iPhone 5 could boost the entire US economy by $3,2Bn in Q4. Unfortunate indeed. ;)

They are called iSheep.

Most of the Americans who bought the iPhone 5, live and work in the big cities. How on God's green earth can you pay a premium for a phone that cannot show you train schedules, bus schedules, etc. anymore? It's something they use every day & now it's gone.

Crazy people, I tell you.

There are already free apps that intergrate with the maps app to provide all sorts of info, including transit.

Terrible article.

The removal of Maps on iOS has nothing to do with the iPhone5, it's iOS6. Yes the iPhone 5 came with it, but the software was released a few days for all older phones a few days before.
