Top 10 android apps for Phones

I'm quite paranoid when it comes to online security so i'm a little worried about using 3rd party apps to replace my phone's keyboard. Arent these essentialy keyloggers? :-/

You even get a warning after installing telling you that the app will have access to all your input info...

Yes, so is the keyboard that came with your phone. **** given the rite software any keyboard on any device can be a keylogger. A nice droid virus can just as easily turn ur stock keyboard against u.

Simply put, check the reviews, lots of possitives, lots of downloads means its good, a price tag generally means its better. I got myself perfect keyboard, its about R2p.

Oh before I get carried away(Dam world of goo) go check out AirDroid

Free https://market.android.com/details?id=com.sand.airdroid

Its a cool app that allows you to control your phone via WiFi in a Web Browser, and that includes installing/removing of apps to sending SMS's, playing Music and managing files.

Its a lot like Remote web desktop but is totally free.

You left out 1 pro, ti does not feel liek your sitting on dial up with a dusty ball mouse. RWD IMO needs to pay people to use it. I had a copy and it lasted all of 2 minutes after completely setting it up. Biggest load of toss ever.
AirDroid FTW...

Some of my must have apps:

WiFi Explorer Pro (Allows you to browse your Android device from any browser on any device on your wifi network)
SplashTop
Titanium Backup
ROM Manager
WidgetLocker (Allows extraordinary customisation of lock screen, can add widgets like weather etc to your lock screen)
SlideIT (A keyboard like Swype but way better imo)
Pulse
Launcher (I switch between LauncherPro & ADW)
TapaTalk

Not really must have

Skype
Dolphin Browser

Nice selection there, recently found airdroid, u should give that a try as a free alternate to wifi pro, can copy to or from over wifi as well as send n read messages, install/uninstall/bacukup apps, as well as few others.

I chose perfect keyboard, nice themes, good config and lets me turn off suggestions.

Took shell3d as my launcher, tried many of the rest and settled on this.

cool thanks, will try airdroid. Can you swipe words with perfect keyboard? I think slideit also has themes, yeh 3D Shell is awesome but really expensive, I'll get it at some stage. Still really liking MIUI with the huge plethora of themes available for it

That is why I love Touchpal because it has swipe and a quick way of turning off suggestions/spell check for when I text in Afrikaans. The only thing it lacks is themes, but I can without it purely because you have not Swiped until you swipe with text prediction.

I dony like he swype typing thing thats why i stayef away from those, i had better keyboard which was nice but it had a really annoying bug and soon after android removed the company and all apps from the market.

I hate iphone, crap and overley restrictive, excepy for the keyboard, imo that was the 1 and only thing apple ever did rite on the iphone and perfect keyboard is essentially, cant tell u whats o great about it but for me it was the only touch screen keyboard i could ever use well, maybe its my big thumbs.

I had lil choice to buy shell3d, had a pirate version but the license check work well but i would of bought it anyway, im more a try before buy kinda guy especially when im dropping R120 on a theme, but withing 15min i was online clicking buy, every other free or paid launcher i tried dis not even last 15min and im not sorry i bought it, works as well as in the video clip and has more features that they don't show, it was extremely well made thats for sure.

I looked into miui and it just reminds me too much of the ikak and from a feature stand point it offera nothing that i cant do with root on a stock rom, every single "special" featurea users havr mentioned i already have with 1 or other lightweight app. I ried cyanogen but that brick blockrd my phone and it spent 3 weeks at vodacom so im in no rush to teat custom roms again, ill just wait for ics as its coming standard with most of the custom mods extra stuffs.

You dont have to slide or swipe on keyboards like Touchpal, you can still hunt and peck, oh and Touchpal even support blind typing. My other keyboard I love is also mentioned in my blog aka Tumb Keyboard. The iPhone theme in it is 100% copy of the iPhone keyboard with highlights and all, but I use it more as a tablet keyboard because of the split option.

Also agree on SPB Shell 3D, but only diff is I use it on MIUI as my launcher.

Will give TP a test then, i thumb keyboards is almost the same as perfect keyboard, also comes with the split layout.
Now i remember, already tried it, did not like it one bit.
