Android Market is having a sale on some really nice apps. Follow link for list. Just downloaded all the apps on the list for R0,80 each :).

Great idea but its a crap list for me personally

Great Little War Game - Bought all ready
SketchBook Mobile - Picked up on Amazon free app of the day last month
Paper Camera - Free at Getjar
Sound Hound - Can not use paid content.
Asphalt 6 - Free with my Xperia Play
Fieldrunners HD - Bought already
SwiftKey - Use Touchpal instead
Minecraft - Bought already
Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro - Say what?
Color and Draw for Kids - Just picked up Drawing Pad for free from Amazon today, much better if you ask me

How so, last time I checked the Amazon app sore was not available in SA?
Is that site legit?

Amazon is technically not but thebsyatems flawed, i can use it too cuz of my uk address.

Getjar is like seper old, used to be the big place to get apps for the older j2me phones.

Prefer the market personally, keep all my stuff in one place.

Oh wow, you really missed a couple of posts....

Ok, yes Getjar is totally legal goto www.getjar.com , can see a review over at http://www.slashgear.com/getjar-gold-challenges-amazon-appstore-with-50-android-freebies-08178020/ There are some cool apps in the gold list like Beautiful Widgets, Splashtop Remote Desktop and Samurai II: Vengeance, all free, they get like a new app or 2, once a week.

If you read the Amazon Free app of the day thread you will get a post on how to join, I also linked to the how-to in my apps blog but here goes. Follow the advice on the following link http://androidadvices.com/access-amazon-appstore-download-paid-apps-free/ it works like a charm.

You can not buy from Amazon using that option, but you will be able to get the free app of the day specials. Just create a separate Amazon account to use for your Android devices.

Google has kicked off a new Android Market promotion to celebrate 10 billion downloads, offering ten days of offers on premium software. The 10 Billion Promo sees ten apps being released each day at just $0.10 in the US (or £0.10 in the UK, as per the screenshot below), with first day titles including SwiftKey X, SoundHound and SketchBook Mobile.

The remaining titles are Asphalt 6, Minecraft, Endomondo Sport, Great Little War Game, Fieldrunners HD, Color & Draw for kids and Paper Camera. Google hasn’t detailed the promotion yet, but we’re assuming the line-up is likely to change daily as the celebration goes on for the next week and a half.

Although this is obviously a useful way for Android users to pick up some cheap apps, it’s also a handy way for Google to encourage people to register credit cards with the Android Market. Previous stats have seemingly confirmed anecdotal evidence that Android users buy fewer paid apps than their iPhone counterparts, despite Google’s best efforts otherwise. The search giant’s hope is likely to be that, with a few cheap apps to lure them in, users will continue to spend once the 10 Billion Promo is over.

Any way to actually access this on the old market? Just as well do it via my browser.

uhm, o :o how do i upgrade the market :wtf: Software update says phone up to date :O

Google messed that up somehow, the upgrade from 2 - 3 never rolled out to countries outside US and EU, i downloaded the first 3.0 version and it upgraded me to the latest.

You can install http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31213713/Apps_Exported_By_AirDroid.zip, i just pulled if off my phone. Once you on the 3 ver it will keep you up-to-date with any other market v upgrades.

Thanks for the heads up. Just bought SwiftKey X, which seems to be a little bit more stable than the MultiLing keyboard I mentioned earlier in this thread. It also still fully supports 2.1

That is the official one, were did you find an official link though? Found the original file on xda and a while later i saw the icon had changed, that's how i knew it had updated.

Downloaded it from androidcommunity, there were two links, the first leaked version... and then the latest official release.

I just made a backup from the one on my phone which logically should be the latest.
