Let me know what you guys use. I know there may be hundreds, but you were only allowed to choose 5, what would they be ?

I still believe that spotlight has negated the need for Quicksilver? (cmd+space -> "App name" and return) Bob's your uncle... quicksilver built-in.

If you've only used Quicksilver for an application launcher then you're missing out. Not to mention is way faster than spotlight.

Everyone initially uses Quicksilver as an application launcher. If you take the time you'll be amazed by what it can do.

I prefer to stay with the regular way of finding info seeing as I need to train switchers on the dead standard software. I do like Keycue for new users, it teaches them a lot.

Even though Quicksilver is so much more than just an app finder (Clipboard History and Shelf to name two) but as such it's far more responsive than Spotlight.

I know what you mean - whenever I use someone's machine where it is not installed I have to consciously revert back to my pre-Quicksilver days . . . or I just ask and then install it for them

Sounds familiar, I have a look every few months to see if I can find one.
Then I try everything out.

For me Google Reader works well enough. At least then I can access my feeds from wherever.

Those applications are great for wasting time. Dunno about increasing productivity.

Out of a 10 hour work day you probably do 8 hours of actual work.
Using keyboard shortcuts, automating repetitive tasks etc...
I can shave off about 1 hour a day.

That extra hour then at an average rate of R 250/h equals R5k/month.
