Location
South Africa.
Hi

How do I find out where exactly towers 22 (La Montagne) and 36 (SunnySide / Kingsley Centre) are? Our office should be LOS of both Sunnyside and La Montagne, however we lost our signal sometime last week after a week of perfect surfing. The location would help when I set up my directional antenna.
Thanks

Hey, I am on tower 22. I believe it it somewhere next to the n4 highway on La Montagne's side. Or on one of the blocks of flats just behind the hill past the german school.

Where are you guys situated? I'm also in that area. What are your signal strenght like?

groenie, look at other threads, they angled the towers down 2 degrees or something, could be you arent covered anymore because of this

As far as I know only Durban Towers have been angled down by 2 degrees namely, Bluff, SunningDale, Chartwell and Durban North.

So what was that about the Pretoria people suddenly getting no signal? ProAsm could you perhaps find out or verify this? I understand that it was done for a good reason but I'm concerned that my previous test results could change. I should be within 5.7km of at least 3 towers though.

Hi guys
I'm writing this from my roof [:)]. It is my first successful connection to tower 22 in more than a week. I built myself a simple waveguide using a coffee tin - and I'm getting anything from 22% to 30% with RSCP at 82-85dBi. I'm halfway up the hill Meyerspark on the Silverton side. I just downloaded the new MySignal at 17kBps on a 128kbps connection!!!

My office is in Persequor park opposite the CSIR. We used to have a very good signal there from tower 36 (Sunnyside I believe), but that has now dissapeared. I'm prettty sure something on the tower must have changed, because the modem was standing on the same spot for over a week and we had full usage of our 512kbps connection.
