Traffic Cameras on R300?

This morning, in my email, I got a R500 fine for doing 90 in a 60 zone on the R300.
Not sure where on the R300, was between the N2 and the Kuilsriver turnoff.
Never saw the 60km/h anywhere.

F*ing nice

there was a guy with his camera sitting right under the Delft bridge.....
I was prob doing about 80 I think... sneaky bugger sat in the "middle" lane, right where they're building the new lane.
I normally leave home at 7 am so never see these guys but this morning I decide to go to work at 9.... caught

Well I saw this fine on Viewfines.co.za, R500 for doing 93 k/h. Still haven't got it in the post. This was on the 4th of November. Guess I was going faster than I thought
Everyone I've spoken to advises to write a letter asking for a reduction... but no one can tell me the address to send it to LOL!

Digging up a old thread here - but has anyone got a fine recently from one of these cameras.

Was on my way to strand this morning, they are still building so there are 60km/h signs everywhere. Next think I see a camera and I'm doing 100!

On the way back same thing - this time there's a cop car in front of me doing 120!

I sure as hell hope they aren't working!:mad:

I don't think they're active and travel on that road every working day. I sure as heck don't do 60 every time.
BUT, on Monday morning there was a traffic cop sitting with his camera again. Direction N1 just after the Stellenbosch arterial. I was doing between 80 - 85 so he must have snapped me. Last year I got a R500 fine for doing 83 but had it reduced to R250, so I'll follow the same procedure when the new fine arrives :D

I also travel that road daily ... and got caught by camera (cop sitting on the inside of the construction area). Did 86km and the fine is R400. The crappy part is that the speed limit drops from 120km to 60km (yellow signs). By the time you slow down it's to late :-(

Amazing thing is you don't get a chance to stop and ask the cop for all his paperwork, certificates, etc. The only time ou know you in trouble is when the fine arrives. What happened to the "innocent until proven guilty" theory??

Cheers

PS: The yellow ones on the side are dummies ....

I travelled the R300 on Tuesday. It was cool to see that most cars stuck to the 60km limit reasonably close. There are some entry pints which have a yield sign and no speed-up lane, i.e. you may have to stop and then join the traffic. 60km seems reasonably limit under such conditions.
