Hi, is there a way to do this? driving me insane and I can't seem to find a solution
any ideas?

Don't you just do a backup of your whatsapp and then reload it on the new phone?

I'm unfamiliar with the iPhone set up. Does Whatsapp on iOS back up messages up on iCloud or Google Drive? If iCloud, you're outta luck as on Android you can only restore from Google Drive.

Yeah, WhatsApp backups to Google Drive, just go to chat backup and backup to Google Drive, then reinstate your chats on the new WhatsApp.

Might be a stupid question but let me ask it anyway

The file that whatsapp uploads to Google Drive, is this not in the same format across both platforms? If so cant you copy the file from drive to iCloud and restore whatsapp chats and vice versa?

Unfortunately cannot :(
Would be so much simple if we could.

I had the same problem recently and after a few days of trying all the tricks / workarounds on the internet I decided to give in and purchase the App "Wazzap Migrator" from Playstore (costs roughly R100). After the backup and install of the app in a few minutes I had all my chats (pics and videos included) restored to my Android device and has been working perfect for the last month.

I was successful in this and used a program which can be found HERE. I paid 19 Euros for a license and it worked flawlessly. Transferred all my chats and history from a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to an iPhone XR.

As this thread was last updated a while ago wanted to check if there is any other way to do this now?

I just can't believe there still is no way to do this. Whatsapp (Facebook) shouldn't care about people moving between devices, so why wouldn't they have a way to do this. Especially as it sounds like you used to be able to do this in older versions by restoring the exported chats from local backup

This is still a successful method - used it on a friends new iPhone last week.
