It's that scary I gave it it's own name...Where is this road? Anywhere on way from Jozi to St. Lucia? I see a Pongola town on N2 but no pongola road yet.
hmm.. thanks for heads up. It looks like we have to take this stretch of N2 from Jozi to St Lucia.

Thanks, will take a look. One colleague just said that same section of N2 is terrible but as per him, it was mainly due to crazy truck driving but apparently road condition is not "that" bad now.No man, take the scenic route

Pretty much all the roads in that part of the world are... they're all fscked cos the coal trucks have buggered them up.Thanks, it looks like R34 on this route is full of potholes and accidents galore. LOL.
N3 seems a sound bet then, even if it adds 200km and time. We did durban trip last year and don't recall much hassles apart from obvious damage from flood.Pretty much all the roads in that part of the world are... they're all fscked cos the coal trucks have buggered them up.
So the N3 is generally good.. the portion between PMB and DBN is a bit of a shitshow but only because of the road works causing traffic...N3 seems a sound bet then, even if it adds 200km and time. We did durban trip last year and don't recall much hassles apart from obvious damage from flood.
Yeah.. I am choosing the known devil over unknown. So the N3 is generally good.. the portion between PMB and DBN is a bit of a shitshow but only because of the road works causing traffic...
The N3/N2 in Durban up to Umhlanga is the same but also only because of road works. The roads themselves are fine.

yoh - we gotta come there though since we booked and is non-refundable. I hope my new purchase mahindra scorpio N will tide us over. Anyone offering 4x4 training on durban roads yet ?Unless you've driven in DBN in the last month.. trust me, its a devil you probably don't know![]()
