I’ve got a couple Tuya based smartplugs and two CBI Astute relays. For the last month or so some of them, most consistently the CBIs, would lose internet connectivity. They can still be controlled via the app when on the network, but once I’m off the network they appear offline. When I cycle the power to them they go back online for a couple hours before eventually going offline again.

It’s not really that much of an issue at the moment, since they seem to remain controllable via LocalTuya in Home Assistant. But it’s just bugging me and I’d love to know what the root cause is.

Any thoughts on where to start? The ‘Check Network Device’ tool in the app says everything is okay, despite the device not being accessible from outside the network.

Dodgy wifi would be my guess
No issues with wifi that I’m aware of. I have a TP Link Omada based network with an access point within 3 metres of the relays in line of sight. Devices are still on the network, fully controllable when my phone is on Wifi and Tuya app reports that wifi is good.

Have had this network setup and relays for more than a year, issue only started beginning of this year.

I know I had that issue with a previous isp issued router. Got something better and the problem went away completely.

I have a cbi astute for the geyser. Vizia plugs on the wall and some light switches from Amazon. Maybe once every 6 mths one will go offline but then a mains reboot and all is good again
