TurboFlo

I wonder if this internet argument is going to have a winner.
Neither participant actually has concrete proof of anything, and the CAPS thing failed ...
I vote for Peanut Butter!

Still can't believe people fall for this marketing... it's like those types of people that think the iPhone is good... it's all marketing hype.

I can easily become a great tuner, with a dyno even, while you are standing there... what I'd do is, do a run without the device in 4th gear, show you the results, then install the device, do a run in 3rd gear, you'll "see" beter results and blindly believe you have more power and it works...

I cannot believe what I am reading from people who are prepared to run Turboflo into the ground without having found out about it and even more so not having tried it in a vehicle, so therefore you have no grounds to say it is rubbish. Whats more there are simular versions in the States, U.K and Aus.

Tell you what: you provide me with a Turboflo and I'll gladly test it out and post the results here.

Do you thing I am stupid, to give a negative person towards Turboflo one to test, well knowing that any one can turn a positive into a negative. Turboflo stats show no negative results, which tell me that I would rather believe say 60 people who say it works, rather than you lot on mybroadband

Actually, I own a Web site about eco-friendly motoring (http://greencars.za.net) and am very interested in any and all technologies that can reduce fuel consumption and emissions. If a Turboflo could provide a meaningful proven fuel saving, I would be more than happy to let the world know. I just need a test unit in order to personally verify claims.

Am I allowed to piss myself laughing that someone actually thinks these things work?

I personally have tried almost everyone of these gimmicks available in this country, before the era of fuel injection, not one had the claimed properties. I have started in 1970 as they started to appear. Many are still lying somewhere in my garage, complete waste of good money.
Why do you think have motor manufacturers gone the long way of multi valve, multi cam, variable cam timing, sophisticated fuel injection and endless electronic control when a simple mechanical airflow controller could do the same job?

Should make anyone think.

And it is not up to the non technically inclined user to furnish scientific test results of non conformance. It is the responsibility of the manufacturers of these gadgets to furnish test results, certified by institutions like Gerotek, SABS or CSIR to support their claims.

Personally I think some people might get a small improvement because they want to prove it to themselves that it works, but it is mostly because they alter their driving style at the same time to achieve it and the car gets a decent tune up at the time of installation of these gimmicks.

No negative results, meaning no positive results or increases either. Same with that TurboNator bullsh1t that 'slices and dices' the air before entering the engine . Jeesus.

Hi, this message is for Blue Collar, who is now the second positive person on this site. It would be appreciated if you could e-mail me at [email protected], as I would like to take this matter further, due to the fact that Turboflo, not only saves fuel etc, but also reduces carbin omissions substantially and have the documentation to prove it

RAS! :mad::mad::mad:

Look at the pics here:

If you know ANYTHING about engines, you will know that any type of swirling or whirling or whatever this piece of plastic creates will be ELIMINATED by the airfilter, in this car specifically.

Apart from that, since the induction pipe from the bumper was removed in these pictures, the car will most probably draw in some heat soak from the engine bay as well, in effect increasing fuel consumption.

Lekker gimmic, this thing. Not even a turbocharger will manage to swirl air right into the combustion area of any engine. The swirling needs to take place right before the valve intake and can only be achieved when the air is moving at a certain velocity. This is done by careful shaping of the valve intake area on a engine - ever heard of "gasflowing" a cylinder head?

Buy this, fit it. People will take you for the same idiots that fit blow-off valves to their turbo-diesels.
