TV Box not Google "Certified"

I also tried DSTV Now 1.40.1 but still complains device is rooted.
Wonder if there isnt a windows tv box? Windows do not have all these issues like Android.

Okay I tried an older APK and that didn't work.

Went to Play Store, downloaded the current version and it works just fine.

It won't show because your device is not certified. This ultra-conservative protection mentality of dstv (and others) will drive us all to piracy

Yes wonder how it showed up in your play store. Does not show up on my play store on my uncertified phone. Same as Netflix and showman etc. I can't download any of these.
 
DSTV Now 1.40.1 now prompted me to update. Clicked continue, opened Play Store and went to the DSTV Now page but, wait for it, yes, correct: Your device is not compatible with this version.
I have Android 7.1.2 - how can my device not be compatible?

Just get an Android TV OS Box, windows box is not going to be user friendly to use on your TV.
 
Thank you for the info on android tv os box Sumen i will definitely have a look at it. Just wondering if they will also have certified problem.

You won't as this is regulated by Google, so the manufacturer is not allowed to mess with the OS too much.

I dont think its ultra-conservative protection mentality, i think its more about protecting their Explora decoder sales. If people watch DSTV now via a media player, then there is no need to "upgrade" your decoder as the app gives you all the streaming capabilities of the explora.

and its funny Showmax does not have these requirements.. or netflix or amazon.
 
So the Samsung Tablet that started working has stopped again. Fml
