Hi Guys,

Wondering if any of you could advise me.

So, i'm looking for a TV Media Player that has all the fav apps like NEtflix, showmax, amazon etc etc...
but specifically with a built in browser.

This media player is a gift for my dad, who watches live TV from Belgium through his browser on his computer.

I tried this website on my 65"KS9500 at home (Which is just a TV) with a built in browser, it works and it's quite good quality. but seeing he doesnt have the same TV (more of a 2015 FHD samsung panel), I was wondering if anyone can make recommendations on what Media player to get him (and where to get them, if you know)

Tried google/youtube reviews - but they don't cover much ground on the web browser capabilities.

Thanks,

JD

You can download puffin tv on android TV. So maybe the Mi Box.

If you have an android phone you can test the browser and see if that's what you looking for.

I found an app called "web video caster"

so that would work if I used "chromecast"...
But honestly I don't think he's too clued up on the "cast it from cellphone/computer to TV"...
1st prize would be, bookmarks on a browser on the media player that he can just select "channel x, channel y, channel z"

Have a look at the Telkom LIT Android TV maybe? I am looking at picking one up this afternoon. Best device for the price, I have found so far...

Then puffin tv will work great because all the bookmarked websites appear on the main section, they are represented by big rectangles.

i tried the puffin browser on my phone.... the browser doesnt play the live stream strangely enough.
I don't think it'll be able to play it then on the LIT / puffin browser on the TV either

Puffin tv or Normal puffin browser? You need to sideload puffin tv because it only shows up in the Android TV playstore and not the phones.

Let me try it because I have a android based smart TV and already have it installed

How hard is it the tap the cast icon?

I didnt know that, I just downloaded it and tested it... looks great. but thats only 1 of the so many channels that are free to watch online.

So, how does it work? You download the app to the LIT device, and play on the TV?

You will have to sideload the app because it's not optimized for android TV so won't show up in the playstore
