Uber Eats introduces a new Dine-in feature

This is probably targeted to the current "instant gratification" generation, the instant you walk into the restaurant to sit down, your meal is already ready and waiting. It does have the benefit of cutting down on food waiting time, and also saves on carrying cash/card to pay. Restaurants probably also benefit from having faster table turn around times, faster payment confirmation, and wider reach of audience.

Gone are the days of getting together with other people to talk and social, because the individual probably did all the socializing via whatsapp/instagram/facebook on the way to the restaurant.

Late baby-sitter

Cold food is so appealing

I prefer they prepare a meal after I've sat down, thanks

Now we can pay slightly higher prices for food via the app, as well as have the inconvenience of leaving home to get it.

I agree delays can happen to cause you to miss out on the optimal time to eat, just as likely that you are able to arrive in time to enjoy a hot meal. I'm simply commenting on why this may have been introduced.
