I must admit, I love Ubuntu but the size of the updates are killing my cap![]()
There must be around 300-500MB of updates every month, its insane!
Just how many of the ~27000 files do you have?... I can understand that if you have a lot of them installed then you will have 300-500Mb of updates every month to install. But rather this than having Windows and not having any updates to sort out their useless software issues...
I'm with you on that man. Hmm they update (WINDOWS) but still doesn't fix the unstable software. Windows is very stable its just once you add your software it becomes so unsable.![]()
You're all trying to turn this into a Windows vs. Linux debate when it has nothing to do with Windows.
The question is; What does it say about the stability and quality of a software product when three months after it's released the size of the fixes and updates are larger than the initial release size?

Deenem,
Simple answer. Unlike payware, freeware includes free updates that are not only bug fixes. This update will include improved, or newer versions of application software, not just the OS software. Open source programs are either constantly improved, or abandoned.
